A Note on This Beer
In the quiet forests surrounding Newcastle, Maine lies a hidden Farmhouse oasis: Oxbow Brewing.
Bloomberg refers to this crew as “perennially excellent.” Thrillist calls them “dope.” But, Hop Culture tells it like it is, saying Oxbow is “one of the most highly regarded and well-respected [beer] producers not just in the state, but the whole region.”
Oxbow’s highly regarded Amarelle, is a Kriek-inspired Farmhouse Ale that will light up your holiday dinner. As one community member so eloquently said "Drinks like a kriek, love it! I’d love this at my Christmas meal. Would play into those holiday flavors so well"
The brewers used 100% Maine-grown grains to craft the base of this Kriek-inspired Farmhouse Ale, which they aged for two years in French oak red wine barrels. Afterward, they transferred the beer onto an “immense amount” of whole Montmorency cherries!
Amarelle is intensely cherry-forward — each puckering sip packs the potency of a cherry pie, complete with hints of cinnamon from the pit of the fruit. The combination of light body, invigorating tartness, and warm, woody funk elevates the experience to regal refreshment status.
