La Puerta de la Bodega
Kings County Brewers Collective
A Note on This Beer
Nothing says summertime like lounging under a beach umbrella, savoring a spicy street taco, and washing it all down with an ice cold margarita.
Today’s thirst-quenching Fruited Gose, La Puerta de la Bodega, captures that feeling.
The brewmasters at KCBC loaded this masterpiece with two gallons of fresh lime juice and 17 lbs of guava purée per barrel, along with spicy guajillo chiles. Each refreshing sip is like a made-from-scratch guava margarita with chile-infused tequila! The Gose base gives it the essence of a salted rim, while the peppers provide a whisper of spicy heat on the finish.
This lime-a-licious Sour may make you feel like you’re sunbathing on a SoCal beach, but it actually comes from the East Coast crew Thrillist called the Best Brewery in NYC!
Thirsty locals call it “AMAZING” and declare, “Coming back for this beer for sure!”
So, whether you’re loading up a plate of freshly grilled pollo onto a warm, homemade tortilla, or just ordering Chipotle take-out, it deserves a can of La Puerta to go with it. Each succulently fruity sip is like a match made in heaven.

This beer sends mixed signals. For one it smells like straight up baby shit, I have a 3 month old and the smells match exactly, trust me. But as for the taste (of the beer, not my 3 month olds shit) its actually really good, tastes like limes and guava and the acidity of the limes gives it a tequila like burn on the way down.
Sours just are not my thing i guess. The smell and the taste is not what i want from a beer
I’m all about this beer. I love the chilled sourness, with notes of lime and that subtle bite on the back end. it’s like an unsweetened margarita.
Limey with a hint of spice
Lime was the strongest flavor
Strong guava flavor from the start, lime and Chile builds through drinking nicely. Was a good beer on a hot day.
Loved this one! The sourness was perfect and the taste was spot on with the guava, lime and hint of spice that hugs your mouth nicely
As usual, KCBC does not disappoint. This is a very good hose, very light, refreshing, drinkable with or without food. Heavy lime and a good sting of chili and salt at the end. Almost a margarita in a can.
Loving the hit of chili that compliments the sour and salty notes.
Has a unique taste.
So yummy and citrusy
Guava flavor comes through, with nice added tartness from lime. Barely noticeable spice, but it's there.
Really enjoyed the spiciness of this. Interesting for sure. Not for everyone, but I liked it.
Decent, limey and a liiiiittttle bit of heat
Really nice Gose that captures the melting pot that is NYC!
To sour to handle for me
Gross. I had to pour it down the drain
So awful, my second sink pour from Tavour, also happened to be from KCBC. This smelled bad to begin with and tasted the same. Was the funk intentional?
Great taste, terrible smell
I was so excited to open LA PUERTA DE LA BODEGA, but so let down by what was actually found inside. It’s really not bad, per se, but it’s just not what was promised behind the “door.”
This was missing a little something and I think it was booze. If this were more like 6% I think it would give it that kick that it’s missing. That said, if you hold a sip in your mouth for a second you really can taste the chile. It does kind of taste like a margarita
Light and slightly tart. Guava heavy on the nose. Guava and lime on the palate with chili burn on the aftertaste. Quite good. Recommended.
Definitely extreme sour, more of a tart taste and distinct smell. Tastes better than it smells.
Ok tiki beer
