A Note on This Beer
Today’s Kilt Switch Scotch Ale is a collab between Texas’ 903 Brewing and the Sherman Celtic Festival and Highland Games.
The only way to get a more authentic experience would be flying to Scotland!
Luckily, you don’t have to learn to jig or chuck enormous logs to enjoy today’s GABF Medal-Winning Scotch Ale. This malty, 9.5% ABV brew goes just as well with barbecue and a game of cornhole.
Of course, if you DO happen to own a kilt and some bagpipes, all the better!
This kind of boozy brew is the type of mastery we’ve come to expect from the crew at 903. These World Beer Cup champs are known for big ABVs hidden under layers of delectable flavor.
Usually their beers never leave the Lone Star state, but today you’ve got a chance to sample their skills without heading to the Celtic Games and watching burly dudes hurl heavy objects.
Crack open the can and huge aromas of dates and raisins come barreling out like a charging army of kilt-clad Highlanders. Take a sip and flavors of caramel, plum, toffee and just a hint of smoky peat wash over the palate like mists across the moorland.
Just because you’re not Scottish doesn’t mean you can’t drink like a Scotsman. Heck, after a couple cans of Kilt Switch, you might find yourself measuring out a hammer throw arena in your backyard. And with a stocked fridge, you’ll have everything you need to host your very own Highland games.
Just try not to throw a log through your neighbor’s window.
*Kilt Switch is the 2018 GABF Bronze Medal Winner in the Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy category.
