About This Beer
For their 6th anniversary, 3 Sons took a decadent Stout base and aged it for 17 months in 18-year-old Barbados rum barrels. Then they transferred it to 10-year-old Henry McKenna bourbon barrels for 8 more months. Finally, they transferred it a third time to 6-year Jack Daniels Single Barrel bourbon barrels for an additional 8 months, before conditioning it all on Tonga vanilla beans!
Tasting Notes
All that time in oak should translate to sublime cask character coming off this 4.48 UT-rated showstopper. Look forward to rich notes of rum raisin swirling alongside dark chocolate and toffee. Nutty mocha tones should usher the palate towards a smooth finish, accentuated by sophisticated hints of woody tannins and whiskey caramel. All while keeping the boozy 17.5% ABV shockingly subdued.
