A Note on This Beer
Earl Grey tea’s expressive perfumed, citrus flavors make it all the rage in the ice cream world, so it was long overdue to make a big splash in the craft beer scene. With their Earl Grey-infused Girl Grey Blonde Ale, The Bruery satisfies this craving -- in what may be the dessert beer hit of the year!
Until this batch, only members of the Bruery’s highly limited Reserve Society Club were able to taste this brew made with Top Chef Masters winner Brooke Williamson. Brewed to the expert chef’s specifications, the bright orange bergamot notes of real Earl Grey tea come through super strongly in Girl Grey. Boosted by creamy lactose and sweet almond essence, the only thing missing are the lacy doilies.
Soft yellow as buttered scones, the Belgian Blonde Ale base plays gracious host to all the sweet dessert notes. Perfumed floral Earl Grey tea aromas blow above the brim, hinting at notes of peaches and nectarines. Sipping reveals a spritzy tea with hints of cream from the lactose. Honeyed Belgian malts complete the picture, giving it a bit of freshly baked almond croissant lustre.
Once brewers around the country get at taste of how well The Bruery represents Earl Grey tea in Girl Grey, we imagine it’ll spawn quite a few imitators. Get a taste of the OG - original Grey right here, right now.
