About This Beer
If you haven’t heard of Rowley’s funk-masters, hear this. They opened their doors in 2016, and just three years later, they won the most medals of any brewery at the 2019 GABF awards, as well as Small Brew Pub of the Year.
Now that’s saying something. What says even more, though, is the incredibly refreshing, yet woundersly complex taste of their delicately tart brews. Take Germophile — Prickly Pear Berliner Weissbier, for instance. It’s delectably tangy, uniquely fruity, and oh-so-refreshing!
Tasting Notes
Brewed with a 50/50 blend of Weyermann Extra Pale Pilsner malt/malted white wheat, and soured with Lactobacillus, the base beer flourishes with a bright barnyard funk. Finished with Thiriez yeast, and doused with a charge of sumptuous prickly pear, the resulting beer tastes like something you’d order at a high-end cocktail bar.
