A Note on This Beer
Garage racing is for mavericks: A group of cyclists start at the top of a parking garage then bomb down an impromptu course through twisting drops and tight turns. Garage racing is also a simple affair: just climb on and ride hard.
Jesse Prall, head brewer at Rubber Soul in Salisbury, Maryland, is a garage racer and a brewer. He spent 10 years working at Dogfish Head, crafting a catalog of wacky brews with unusual ingredients, earning the respect of his peers and the beer community. He loved learning tricks-of-the-trade but wanted to brew his own way, like the way he rides: 100% traditional American craft with heart and soul.
Jesse applied those same ideals when opening Rubber Soul brewing in 2015. He started brewing beers like Garage Racer IPA, our first taste of Rubber Soul here at Tavour.
Mosaic Hops provide a juicy burst of mango and stone fruit flavors, while Citra backs it up with a tangy burst of grapefruit goodness. It finishes smooth and clean with a slight sweetness. It’s so good it’s already winning awards at regional beer fests!
So hop on your bike and start pedaling. But not on a track or a street -- seek out some independent thinkers, some like-minded weirdos who aren’t afraid of a little risk, and head for the nearest garage. You might even spot Jesse hauling-ass down the winding ramps. And with a Garage Racer IPA in hand, you’ll definitely have the perfect post race beer.
