Truly gone wrong . Just a milk sugar bomb
Chocolate, creamy, dark.
Tried to probably do too much here. Didn’t really taste like anything.
Is it supposed to be sour?
By far the worst beer I have ever tried and I'm a homebrewer. Vomit smell, ashtray taste, stale in the mouth. I couldn't even get down a sip. Beyond disappointed. Every single can of this that went out should be refunded.
Not a good flavor combo
Down the drain
This beer tastes like you're drinking a "man" scented candle or a cigar.
Sour!? Would definitely pass on this one
Not great. Hard to finish. Did not taste like Oreos.
Sour. Disgusting. Can’t believe I paid for this.
Tasted sour not even close to an Oreo.
I don’t know exactly what this was supposed to be, but it wasn’t this.
Coffe + burnt toast?
Tastes like too many things mixed together and not harmoniously. Coffee, fruit, sour, not sure what they were going for here.
Stout it out
Too much coffee for me... and overly sweet.
Not what I expected
Why is this sour? Was looking forward to some deep rich flavors...
I am sorry that I bought this beer. Thin, mischaracterized, just not good.
It felt like somebody wanted to hurt me. Did they can the wrong product?
Really glad it wasn't just me. This was not worth finishing. A sour in a dark beer's clothing...
Did not get Oreo taste at all. It tasted like a rancid ashtray. Each sip got worse.
Smells and tastes like an ashtray.
Bitter. Tasted like an ash tray, and I don’t smoke. Poured it down the drain.
Bad bad bad. This tastes infected.
I hope I just got a bad batch. Smelled like an ashtray. Had to throw it out.
Disgusting. Poured down the drain. Should get a refund
The nastiest beer I have ever had you could get someone sick or kill someone with it I dont recommend and im canceling with you guys waste of money by far
This was bad and sour. Went down the drain.
Sour, not really a pastry ale.
Bad. Just bad. Do not buy. It’s a dark ale that’s sour? Stupid strong lactose. Absolutely disgusting smell. I’ve poured out one beer in my life, this will be a second.
Extremely disappointed. Poured it out, tasted like metal. Waste of money!!
was sour even though i’m not sure it was supposed to be. flavors weren’t bad tho.
Terrible. Does not match the description at all. This has to be a bad batch or something.
Absolute garbage, smelled like an ashtray and tasted even worse. Not sure how this made it through.
Worst beer ever!
Pretty terrible. One time I drank dishwater, and that had a nicer finish.
Not sure what this is
Just atrocious. Tastes like cigarettes.
Interesting pastry stout. Maybe too many ingredients? One thing I would have liked is some lactose for more mouthfeel or creaminess. Woops. Drinking my second one and I notice it says "with lactose." Still a bit thin...
Nothing pastry here. Infected perhaps? It's a shame, this sounded intriguing.
1st can: Smooth, creamy, dark wheat beer with hints of chocolate. Enjoyable! 2nd can: Completely different taste. Bad can? Definitely something wrong.
I thought it was good! Kinda sweet for my taste but I liked it. Unfortunately I thought it smelled awful, and couldn't get over it.
To date this is one of the three most disappointing beers ive ever ordered from Tavour. The smell made me want to vomit, it smells like disgustingly strong body odor with a hint of rotten garbage. The taste is sour and weird, one sip and i dumped this down the drain, SO glad i didnt get more than one.
It’s smoky and a little raisiny and very yummy. Almost sour.
Don’t buy this. It tastes like carbonated soy sauce.
Oreo cookie flavor doesn’t really come through, generally lighter flavor that is fizzier than you’d expect and dissipates quickly
Daily Corona battle chilly day edition. Reading reviews, and smelling this, I did not anticipate enjoying it. It was worse than I expected. I tried a second sip out of morbid curiosity. It’s like a terrible coffee sour. Just awful.
Sour and gross. I am going to pour it out.
If you told me that it was going to taste like blueberries, tart cherries, sweet and sour I may have had a different opinion. Nothing like the description. Not enjoyable. When in doubt, pour it out.
Horrendous. Like I’m drinking a bad home brew. There’s nothing pastry about it. Overly carbonated. Sour. Am I drinking the beer described? This going down the drain. I want my money back. Brothers NEED to work it out. For realz.
Unfortunately I don’t get this beer. To me it is weak and not a flavor I want in a beer. It is a weird spoiled bread flavor.
This was an interesting experiment that ultimately failed on all counts. Far too sweet to enjoy, not stout enough to compensate.
I taste tin can and no Oreo
Taste like Bud Light mixed with a shitty stout..
I was waiting for this and it didn't disappoint. Delicious
Not my personal favorite. I got the coffee notes and some of the chocolate but the almost sourness of the beer is what threw me off since I wasn't expecting it to have that kind of taste based off the description.
Was infected and tasted like sour Cherry so unfortunately a drain pour
I was really looking forward to this. I was surprised to find that it did not taste as advertised. I bought 6 and the first 3 I drank were a sour, vanilla coffee. I don't throw beer out so I will drink the other 3 I bought. This is a beer that will not get recommended unless it is infected and I can taste what it is supposed to taste like and it is given to me. My enemies don't even deserve this kind of disappointment.
Literally the most nasty beer I’ve ever tried. Bitter leather/sour apple/spoiled iced coffee. Never again snagging anything from these companies
Something was wrong with this beer. Super sour. I think it’s infected.
I think this one went bad. Sour and ashy.
This was not for me! Too sweet!
This one definitely went bad somewhere in the process. It was flat, sour (not a good sour), and lacked body. Disappointing.
I can't get the star rating to register less than one, too bad cause this beer is garbage. Sour and funky, neither in a good way
By far the worst craft beer I’ve ever tasted
If you like sour beers this is fine but I'm not sure if that's what they meant to make. Like an effervescent foldgers cold brew. No cookie flavor
Really unpleasant with no clear main flavor. No where near Oreo flavor. Had to dump it.
First off, the reviews on here for this one are hilarious but sadly pretty spot on. If you Google this beer, you'll come to an interview with the ShuBrew head brewer who said the aim was for this to taste like a mocha cookie crumble frappaccino. It isn't anywhere near this. It's sour, very foul smelling and has no oreo flavoring apparent. I had a few sips and that was enough. The black wheat coffee beer base was the culprit. They admitted this was experimental so let's hope they learned never, ever to do something like this again.
Absolutely revolting. I read the other reviews and thought that since I like sours maybe I’d have an open mind going into it but it’s just as bad as the reviews say. We should honestly get a refund on this since it tastes NOTHING like it was advertised.
When I first tasted this I thought it must have spoiled somehow. Whatever. I chugged it. I drank the other can I bought and wow, this is how it is supposed to taste I guess. Armpit aromas and tastes like a hobo’s 4Loko vomit. Nothing at all like a “pastry” style ale. This is definitely the worst beer I’ve ever drank in my entire drinking career.
I wonder if Tavour got a bad batch of this. This is one of the worst craft beers I’ve ever had. The nose on it was putrid . I split it with a friend and we both dumped it after 2 sips. It wasn’t pastry anything it tasted like coffee that had spoiled cream added to it. Looking at similar comments below and on untappd from people who got from Tavour it sees to differ from those who got direct . Regardless it was awful
I think the roasted coffee and vanilla extract give this a bit more of a sour bite than is expected. Definitely more of a sour than a dark ale - may just need some rebranding.
I really hope there was a problem with this beer. I had high hopes for it.
Dark but sour. Unpleasant smell and wretched late flavor. Not good at all.
Couldn’t pay someone to drink this. Taste like drinking a mouthful of dandelions and the dirt they grow in. Seriously tastes nothing like the description and not drinkable. What a waste of $8. Shame on the brewers for releasing it to the public for consumption and making people pay for it and shame on Tavour for selling it
Where was the pastry?? Why was it sour?!
Mine was fine, roasty notes, but no off flavors or obvious faults. Sorry y’all got bad beers because this was good.
Why release this? Could they not tell before canning? I’ll chalk it up to beer gone awry.
The most gross beer I have ever had. Taste like an ashtray. None of what was described in the write up was present. Just a shite beer.
I’m speechless! Not sure what happened here. Did the brewers taste this before they canned it? Maybe a canning issue. Were the Oreos a special edition...a** flavor? And to be honest, I don’t want to be a part of something bigger if it tastes like this.
Did not taste like an Oreo at all. Just tasted like a mediocre hoppy dark ale. The hops (maybe centennial?) had a very metallic/copper taste. Could’ve been OK but expectations of Oreo cookie flavor ruined it.
Something had to be wrong with this batch, tastes like an ashtray, awful
Unfortunately, it tasted like somehing went wrong with the batch
I read so many spot-on reviews that capture how absolutely heinous this beer is but the one that resonates most is the ash tray comp. I almost made the mistake of using this can of nastiness to boil bratwursts in for dinner but thankfully my vegetarian wife urged me to pour it down the drain so as not to ruin the brats. The only good thing about this beer is that I now know for the rest of my life what the answer is to "what is the worst $8 you ever spent?" Worst drink of any variety I've ever experienced.
There’s something tart and it’s throwing it all off
Total Dumpster Fire, Good Lord! There should be some accountability on Tavour for this.
Damn near unbearable and a drain pour. Do away with this one forever.
This beer was straight up nasty. Dumped it down the sink after a few sips. I think something must’ve gone wrong during canning because it tasted like something wild and unwanted got in here.
disgusting battery acid☹️
