A Note on This Beer
“You know that magical moment when you cascade a perfectly stacked plate of French Toast with rich and gooey maple syrup... yep, we bottled it.”
That’s how the brewers at Lakewood Brewing Co. describe the newest French Toast-inspired variant of their award-winning Temptress Imperial Milk Stout!
To make it, they stuffed their decadent Milk Stout base with heaps of real maple syrup, vanilla, and a swirl of lactose.
Each rich sip oozes with swirls of cinnamon-spice, brown sugar, and chocolate-covered caramels. A roasted malt backbone and a hint of sweet maple float to the top. It tastes like devouring a stack of fluffy, cinnamon-dusted French Toast!
Sure, you may try to resist the allure of this captivating brew — ‘til you’re caught in the clutches of its beguiling 9.1% ABV.
Fair warning: there’s only one way to taste this treat outside of Texas, and that’s right here. Will you be one of the lucky few to transport your tastebuds to a maple syrup soaked, French Toast nirvana?

I think I had a Porter
Very Maple! Delicious.
Very tasty maple and cinnamon flavors at the start. Tastes just like a stack of French Toast as advertised. Vanilla comes out as well making a balanced breakfast beverage!
Definitely can taste the maple 🍁😋
Great smelling beer, but the taste was a big letdown. Just a hint of maple in the finish.
Tastes just like what it says. Very well done. That maple really comes through.
Definitely maple and roast forward. Slight coffee and decent stout maltiness. Finish is absurd... very boozy and has a weird astringency.
Nice maple flavor
I get the maple flavor up front, but that's it. Definitely a stout, but mislead by the name.
Tastes as described. Not bad
Lordy, lots of maple syrup!
Taste like a fresh stack with lots of maple syrup
Smelled EXACTLY like French toast upon opening. Has too much...something. My palate’s not refined enough yet. Must keep drinking.
Such maple! An excellent beer. Smooth to the mouth and sweet going down. Love!
Tastes exactly like French Toast, but it tastes like burnt French Toast. The maple comes through as an aftertaste. A bit bitter but overall okay.
Strong maple on the nose, smooth buttery finish on the tounge. Great for breakfast!
Normally don't like thin stouts but this is a banger
Decent stout but it can’t decide whether to be a dessert or regular
Delicious! Amazing taste, and definitely tastes like French toast!
Boozy French toast!
So much vanilla with a hint of maple. Needs more cinnamon
Smells just like syrupy French toast and super buttery on the finish
Amazing! Tastes just like French toast!
French toast for sure!
Tasted and smelled just like French toast
Like a maple syrup beer! A little too sweet for me
Don't believe the hype.
A tad too sweet!!
You can really taste the maple
If I could find a way, I would literally have sex with this beer
Dark, Maple Syrup & Chocolate sniffs, thin-bodied, toffee, Cocoa, caramelly sweetness, and Vanilla.
A little heavy on the cinnamon. A little more vanilla and lactose maybe to balance out the flavor profile.
Sweet notes of maple, brown sugar and vanilla
Taste pretty good not a fan of stouts but this one actually taste good
Unfortunately, after my first hopeful taste, it ended with a bitter finish. None of the tastes got any better after that.
Breakfast stout? Whoa! Easy on the syrup.
Love it, the maple is amazing. They did a great job on this.
Ordered from Tavour, chilled, and poured the bottle into a goblet. Look: Black, light tan head that dissipates and leaves a nice ring of foam and lacing as we drank. Smell: roasted, almost burnt brown sugar, followed by sweet maple with roasty malt and vanilla Taste: taste follows the smell... roasted and almost burnt brown sugar, followed by maple that lingers and hangs for a while, with some lingering vanilla, a bit of bitter and booze on the backend. The backend taste is vanilla extract, which is a bit off putting and odd. Feel: medium to full with a syrupy character that is drying. Nice tickle of carbonation on the tongue. Temptress in the DFW is a fun and creative group that create some fun dark brews. Our favorite is their thin mint and we had high expectations for this one. Bren really likes this one because of the maple notes that hang around for a while... for me, the vanilla extract is weird and a bit too much for me... Cheers!
I have found through tavour beers that I am not fond of overly sweet beers. So I am tentative when it comes to maple sweet beer. But this temptress like one I had before does a very good job of satisfying me. It balances the sweet and bitter to make a very nice French toast stout.
The maple is present, but this is THIN! Drinks like a porter. This is the most see thru stout also, other than golden stouts. Decent beer but seems like a misrepresentation to me.
Not the best stout ever. It has very strong maple and sweet breakfast aromas, I wouldn’t quite call it French toast though. It tasted pretty good but once again, could’ve been better, it tasted very dark (obviously) with the maple and coffee on top of it. I’d definitely try it but I don’t think I would recommend it.
Very smooth with a ton of flavor, but the aftertaste was a tad bit too bitter for me.
Just not a lot behind this guy. Too many great stouts out there Sorta nutty watery not a lot of aroma or lingering savory notes
Tastes exactly like French toast.
Not so thick stout. Mild French toast nose notes but not so much on flavor.
Great Taste 🔥
Had a nice maple flavor but I didn't care too much for the other flavors
Wouldn't mind having this for breakfast every morning. Jist the right amount of sweetness. Smooth and creamy and yummy
I vehemently disagree with those who say there is not much flavor with this one. It's fantastic. The milk stout is easy to drink especially with your pancakes for breakfast, and has the right aftertaste of French toast.
a little syrupy sweet but still good body and yummy
Absolutely tasted like advertised but way to sweet for my palette. It was line dipping French toast into a boozy thick TIPA?
The smell alone...we passed it around for a whiff! I wanted it to pour it on everything!
Can taste the maple!!! Does taste like a real Wisconsin breakfast
I’m not sure I would have known it was 9%! Very smooth and easy to drink
마실만은 한데 존맛은 아님
It was like having a Cinnamon Toast Crunch with some syrup.
