A Note on This Beer
I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a breakfast joint and not ordered the French toast. I can’t help it — the moment I get a whiff of that cinnamon-y, maple-drenched goodness, the cravings set in, and they are INTENSE.
Which is why I always try to grab a fresh batch of Hubbard’s Cave’s ultra-decadent French Toast Imperial Stout the moment it comes off the stove, er, canning line. Just one sip of this breakfast-flavored boozebomb is enough to put my cravings at ease!
No wonder, too. It’s fermented on the same stuff that makes real French toast so scrumptious: cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla, and lactose!
Its invigorating roasty coffee undertones make this brew so smooth and drinkable, I can’t help but dive back in until not a drop remains. Thick waves of sticky maple syrup scents spill out enticingly from the start, making way for rich cinnamon and hazelnut notes that dance on the palate. Vanilla latte-like silkiness lingers on the finish, like a dollop of whipped cream that melted all over my favorite breakfast.
If treats like this left Illinois more often, I probably wouldn’t bother loading up on French toast at restaurants. After all, the bread version doesn’t come wrapped in a 12% ABV!
