About This Beer
To craft this sophisticated sipper, the Fort George crew started with a rich, English-style Barleywine base aged for 30 months in Westward whiskey barrels. Then they mixed that with a toastier Barleywine blend aged 20 months in Heaven Hill barrels, 20 months in Dickell barrels, and 25 months in Westward rye barrels. Finally, the brewers finished the mix with Barleywines aged in Basil Hayden for 20 months, Russell’s Reserve and Russell’s Rye Barrels for 20 months, and Willett Barrels for 40 months.
Tasting Notes
Every swig is an education in balance and beautiful cask handling. Decadent date and raisin tones blend with gooey caramel and oaky vanilla tones on every quaff. Brown sugar and delicate cocoa tones are met by leather and char, melting into woody spice on the finish.
