A Note on This Beer
This brew is all about the barrels, bub!
To create it, the crew at Standard Brewing blended two righteously flavorful Stouts — one aged for 17 months in Heaven Hill Barrels, and one aged for 18 months in Westland Peated Whiskey Barrels.
The result overflows with flavors of chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and fudge-covered cherries. It swirls with ribbons of oak and lucious dollops of whiskey-caramel. On the finish, a touch of smoky peat comes through, but it’s subtle — just enough to create some earthy complexity that elevates the lingering roasty notes.
There’s a good chance you haven’t tried a Stout from Standard — they’re one of the best kept locals-only secrets in Seattle beer. But, if you share a few drops of this stuff with your Dark Beer loving buddies, this brewery’s Stout prowess won’t stay secret for long.
Standard Brewing is one of Eater’s Best Breweries in Seattle!
