You can tell this beer is barrel aged but just barely. I enjoyed it, but would describe it as BBA light.
Not enough barrel. Kind of thin. Decent, but wouldn't buy again
Very light notes of oak, some vanilla but mostly pretty standard imperial stout. Medium body.
Solid stout. Rich with perfectly balanced flavor.
16oz can from Tavour. Aroma is a boozy blend of bourbon and chocolate. Pretty boozy up front in the taste too, sweet chocolate following the sharp alcohol warmth. No adjuncts, just a good old fashioned BBA stout blend.
So good! Peaty-scotch and Bourbon tasty!
Excellent stout. Solid barrel taste, not sweet. Perfect
Great Stout here. Slow sipper and low proof makes it easy to drink before bed.
Barrel (and bourbon) dominates front and center. Not balanced as much as I’d want but still very good. Very robust for only 8.5%.
Peat smoke comes through along with barrel char and some cherry sweetness. Drinks at ABV level without any harshness. Finishes sweet as well. Tastes all natural, not adjunct laden.
Dark chocolate, dark malts, and barrel; but flavor is thin and quickly fades. Seem to be a couple of notes missing that leaves the beer incomplete.
A good stout that really does taste as described. The body tastes of dark chocolate cherries with whiskey blended in as well. The peat comes through towards the end and lingers in the aftertaste.
just not a big fan of this one. kinda peaty flavor that I didn’t like
Party in my mouth
Low ABV for a barreled stout but delicious and refreshing.
deep robust wood/earth/roast is the prime characteristic that stood out to me. Fits the name quite well.
