Electric Warrior Oatmeal Stout
Woodland Empire Ale Craft
A Note on This Beer
Woodland Empire Ale Craft is making a name for themselves with innovative beers, but they have a dark love for reinventing the classics. Electric Warrior Oatmeal Stout, is the newest year-round offering from Idaho’s brewing- gem.
Built for the year-round dark beer fan Electric Warrior Oatmeal Stout has a smooth mouthfeel, with a roasted flavor and light body.
“I really think that most people like dark beer, though they may not acknowledge it,” said Head brewer Rob Landerman, “It can often get a bad wrap, relegated to the fall and winter months. So we wanted something good enough to make people want it throughout the year.”
The secret to this season versatility is the use of Fawcett Oat Malt in place of flaked oats. Oat malt brings the same velvety texture, but has a lighter mouthfeel than with a traditional flaked oat. Plus, this special oat also gives a warm-grain character that enhances the roasted qualities of chocolate malt.
Pouring bittersweet brown with a khaki head, Electric Warrior snuggles right into a pint glass on winter nights. Layers of cocoa powder, with an edge of espresso bitter slide across your palate. Slick, but with a dry finish, an easy drinking 5.3% ABV makes this Oatmeal Stout appealing even in the summer.
Woodland Empire’s dark beer cred is growing with each release-- their Cozy Up Milk Stout won gold at NABA Mountain Brewers Fest. Early returns on Electric Warrior show it’s en-route to becoming a favorite in the dark beer community.
