A Note on This Beer
In my opinion, North Carolina’s Resident Culture should be called “Resident Awesome.” Some of the biggest publications in the country can't stop raving about their fantastic beers!
- Forbes declares that they’ve “quickly become one of the nation’s elite breweries!”
- Thrillist calls them one of the 10 Best Breweries in Charlotte (a.k.a. Beer City, USA)!
- Craft Beer & Brewing named them a Breakout Brewery when they were less than 2 years old!
So, when I got a hold of their newest juicy Double, Electric War, I knew I had to share it with y’all!
It shines with the tropical flavors of a new hop variety from New Zealand: Pacific Sunrise! To compliment these rare and exotic cones, the brewers heavily dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, and hand-selected Citra Hops, for a grand-total of 10lbs of hops per barrel!
After teasing your nose with its aroma of dank pine resin and drippy peaches, the soft, full-bodied mouthfeel wraps your tongue in flavors of sweet, ripe mangoes, succulent pineapples, and juicy tangerines — all from heaps of hops.
It sips down incredibly smooth and easy, despite its massive 9% ABV. Craft fans like @Brice J. can’t get enough of this 4.26-rated Hazy, declaring, “Dang. This one pops!”
Unfortunately, this is one poppin’ brew you can’t find outside of North Carolina. So, if you want to dive into RC’s juicy awesomeness — and try some brand-new hops from Kiwi country — now’s your chance!

Great can to bust out when you have company. Intricate design, and flavor to boot.
Nice, smooth hops that linger
Looks like milk, tastes like the best IPA ever!
Dank juicy and very drinkable for a 9% DIPA.
Melon and pineapple shine through. This beer needs a mini umbrella in it.
citrus was fireeee. gettin faded off the 9%, my boy noah agrees there’s citrus, but adds tangerine or orange. wow. this beer is incredible, mad respect to resident culture brewing ayyy haha ⛽️🤧🚀🛸😈
Did not like this mix .....strong but bitter
Pretty good with little taste of alcohol , still has the good bite though
Couldn't pick the high ABV, which is great! But it didn't wow me and tasted like most mid-road hazies.
Solid as usual from these guys
Hazy, juicy, delicious
Easy drinking hazy double IPA, not overwhelming with bitterness, nice floral hop flavor profile.
Hazy and juicy
Hoppy, malty, a bit boozy.
Great tasting NEIPA. Love the hop profile, nice punch and real juicy.
So much juice! Very smooth
Wish I bought more
Dank melon and cantaloupe on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel with a good bitter bite. ABV not overly hidden bring some decent heat. Well rounded.
Piney, hoppy aroma with not a ton of brightness. Pretty punchy, complex flavor with lots of dank hops and a bit of juicy papaya and mango towards the end. Sweeter and sticky towards the end.
Smooth! I wouldn't have guessed it was 9%!
Juicy and Bitter
Berry, Pineapple, Citrus, and alittle pine 🤤
Yummy! Nice bitter bite with tons of peach, tangerine and pineapple. NC brewers are a step above!
Great NE IPA
3.92/5 look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 4 Poured from a 16 ounce can into a snifter. Look- Pale gold, very hazy, fine white head, average lacing, below average head retention. Smell- Mango, pineapple, peach. Taste- Pineapple, mandarin orange, mango, peach, pine resin finish. Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, medium bitterness, astringent finish, slightly prickly, creamy. Overall- Enjoyable experience.
Drinkable but lacking balance and definition.
The sauvin give this a nice fruit complexity. Nicely balanced.
This is dangerous for a 9%er. Smooth
Velvety on the tongue. Pine and mild citrus to the taste. This one drinks so smooth. Wish I got more!
All my favorite hops and wow so juicy and smooth for its high ABV.
Stellar! Nose is all kinds of fruit but with a slight funk (in a good way). Very smooth for the Number 9 boost of alcohol. Have no idea why the name (or the label) but this is tasty. Will repeat.
Tons of tropical fruit aromas, particularly pineapple. Pour is beautifully murky. Smooth, but it has a nice bitter kick on the end. Taste is straight pineapple juice with some accompanying citrus notes.
