Kings County Brewers Collective
A Note on This Beer
Every time I snag a new Smoothie brew from the New York State Beer Competition Gold medalists at KCBC, I queue up Kool & The Gang’s ‘Celebration’ and do a little happy dance!
What can I say? These brewers stuff their beers with so much real fruit, I can’t help but get my groove on after cracking a can.
Today’s Dragon Wagon is no exception! The brewers crammed this jammy party-in-a-can with loads of lush guavas, tangy dragonfruit, sweet bananas, and mildly tart passionfruit. I feel like I’m sippin’ on a big glass of POG, in between bites of ripe banana.
With its silky smooth mouthfeel — thanks to additions of vanilla and milk sugar — I’m cruising through cans with superhuman speed. It’s just the beer to relax with at the end of a long work day. Or, to keep you company through a bases loaded, bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, 2 strikes, down by 1 situation!
Come to think of it, I better slow down and save the rest of my stash for MLB gameday. Once these cans are gone, who knows if — or when — the NY-based brewmasters will whip up more.

sour and refreshing. very good flavors.
Sour, fruity beer that is refreshing. Guava is the strongest element in this beer.
I was surprised by this one. The flavors mesh so well together that there was no way I was not going to finish it. It's tropical flavors are balanced well.
Nice and fruity. Really enjoyed this one!
sour, fruity and flavorful
love the mixtures of fruit!
Fruity and sour flavors balance well. Loved the addition of banana to this one.
Correction, this is Sour Ale as it says on the side of the can, not Fruited Sour. I was hoping to get a good taste till I noticed the pouring into a glass. Sorry but this wasn't my thing at all. The only small points I'll give is that all the flavors are there, yet I gotta keep in mind on how strong the taste of Guava is. I had high expectations, but was left disappointed.
Perfect beach day beer
great flavor throughout the whole can, very juicy
Party in my mouth
A very refreshing, mildly sour, beer. I have definitely had better beers from KCBC but it was still good.
Good fruit flavors but too much sourness for my taste. A good example in my opinion of how so many American sour beers overemphasize the tartness factor. European brewers have mastered the art of producing sours with a pleasant level of tartness perfectly combined with other flavors, and this beer could be so much better by dialing it back a bit and allowing the fruit to come forward in a more balanced way.
perfectly sour perfectly fruity another one of those diamonds in the ruff kind of beers so good I hope they bring it back
tasty but doesn’t quite measure up to their other sours
