Grimm Artisanal Ales
A Note on This Beer
“A flawless display of everything a non-pastry Imperial Stout can be.”
That’s how the folks at Paste magazine described today’s decadently dark Double Negative Imperial Stout…right after adorning Brooklyn’s Grimm Artisanal Ales one of the 50 Best American Breweries of the Decade!
Which is freakin’ phenomenal since this homebrewing-couple-turned-NYC-craft-legends only started gypsy brewing in 2013, and opened their brick-and-mortar taproom merely two years ago!
Believe it or not, today’s pour is the first Imperial Stout they ever brewed, AND their first beer to medal at the Great American Beer Festival!
Making this smooth-sipping Stout a piece of craft history that showcases Grimm’s rise to greatness; a must-try for Dark Beer fans.
The jet-black pour swirls with notes of fresh espresso and a hint of plummy dark fruit. Decadent notes of baker’s chocolate, blackstrap molasses, charred wood, and honeyed raisins make for a full-bodied sip. A dry, slightly bitter finish complements the luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, prepping your mouth for another sip of the 10% ABV dark delight.
Swimming with rich flavors atop a robust body, this world-class, no B.S. pour from one of craft’s rising stars cannot be beat by any run-of-the-mill Pastry Stout. So claim your bottles of Double Negative now, or forever hold your peace for missing out on this boozy behemoth.

Nice creamy, roasty imperial stout. Notes of coffee and chocolate. A little thin.
