Double Crooked Tree (2017)
Dark Horse Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Dark Horse's juggernaut 12% ABV Double Crooked Tree has been called “One of the most drinkable and pleasant higher alcohol Double IPAs that I have tasted ever” by the Beer Advocate Bros.
A flavor-bomb dripping with citric-bitter boldness, Double Crooked Tree is a fierce and authentic double down of the brewery’s runaway success Crooked Tree IPA – it’s LITERALLY double the amount of hops, ABV, and malts!
Exciting and rarely seen hop flavors like cherry, apricots and nuances of black tea join the beer’s iconic hop line up: Cascade and Centennial Hops supply concentrated orange nectar flavor and aroma, while Columbus doses Double Crooked Tree with intense spicy pine bitter.
Double Crooked Tree is one of Michigan’s most anticipated limited releases and it arrives at the perfect time – IPA fans should clamor for this unmitigated hop flavor.

I’m not an IPA guy but for a big bodied boozy beer this has what I want. It’s not overpowered with hops and still has that malty sweetness I want. Yum
