A Note on This Beer

Since opening their taproom in a 1920s Ford Dealership back in 2017, Masthead Brewing has made quite the splash in the Ohio craft scene, winning a GABF medal in their very first year!

Today’s Double Citra Vice is a delicious example of their IPA mastery.

The brewers packed it with double the amount of hand-selected hops from TV Hops in Idaho — plus even more malted and flaked oats — than their original fan favorite, Citra Vice. As a result, this beautiful, bright-orange brew pours as thick and pithy as freshly-squeezed juice on a Sunday morning!

Fragrant aromas of pineapples and oranges greet the nose, while each thirst-quenching sip brings notes of honey-drizzled grapefruit and a whisper of earthy dank.

Thirsty hopheads can’t get enough of this juicy double! They’re raving:

I’m always a fan of IPA’s that use flaked oats—always makes it softer. Pile on tons of Citra hops and this is turning out to be the front runner of this box. Can’t wait to be in Cleveland in a few weeks and find some more from Masthead.

Parity good for a double IPA little hoppy with a smooth after taste light on the citrus flavor doesn’t feel like a 8.1 ABV

Masthead does it again not even that but takes citra hops to a level that just is great … most times I don’t like how brewers use 💯 citra but this is a solid 4.15 4.2

Would buy again! Sad I only bought 4. Don't be like me!! This is a beer that definitely does not lake in crispy citrus freshness from the moment the can is opened and follows all the way through to the end.
