About This Beer
Fremont’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Star (or BBADS, if you’re in the know) is undoubtly one of the most iconic Stouts ever created. It’s the third-highest rated Oatmeal Stout on all of BeerAdvocate, it’s won heaps of awards at the WBC, Brussels Beer Challenge, and GABF, plus every variant earns massive 4.30+ UT scores.
We’ve been lucky enough to get many of those aforementioned variants here on the app, but today is special. Because, for the first time ever, we’ve got a double barrel version!
Tasting Notes
All that time in oak should translate to sublime layers of tannic oak, vanilla, and top shelf whiskey. Look forward to roasty malts underneath, accentuated by chocolate truffles, espresso, and candied fig. And if past releases are any indication, the boozy 17% ABV should go down smooth as silk!
