A Note on This Beer
The Best of Craft Beer Award-winning crew at Colorado’s River North is getting into the Halloween spirit early this year.
They’re bulking up on extra spirit barrels, they’re toiling over boiling bubbles, and they’re boozing everything up for some serious trouble! And today’s Double Barrel Aged Dubbel is their latest monster-sized brew to come off the slab.
The mad-scientists at River North wanted to create a better Barrel-Aged Belgian Dubbel — one with twice the booze, twice the barrel, and 10 times the potency of an average Dubbel.
So they took their base beer and aged it in Colorado Bourbon Barrels to reap flavors of charred oak and notes of silky caramel. Then, they took the burgeoning beauty and aged it again in Colorado Whiskey Barrels for soft layers of toffee and candied figs.
When the storm reached its climax, and the lightning struck, the creation came to sweet, sippable life. A boozy, full-bodied Frankenstein of a brew boasting a tremendous 12% ABV.
Of course, the townspeople of Denver have no fear of this newborn barrel baron — when they heard of River North’s creation, they demanded the Double Barrel Aged Dubbel in droves!
Now, they’re lifting their own spirits high with sips of the dark-hued, smooth-drinking, double-barrel demon, forbidding this delectable treat from leaving the state of Colorado!
But today, we’re giving you the chance to witness the absolute immensity of this figgy-flavored and whiskey-spiced sipper.
This spooky boozer is too new for ratings!
