Jester King Brewery
A Note on This Beer
When I first heard about today’s Deinos Keynos, I got a little confused. This brew comes from Jester King — the legendary pioneers of American Wild Ale — but it’s a Hazy Imperial IPA.
In fact, it’s the very first Imperial IPA I’ve ever tried from these Texas craft masters.
After the first sip, I felt all my skepticism melt into its rippling pool of fresh-squeezed OJ and pithy grapefruit flavors. Of course it’s good! It’s from Jester King! Did I really think this crew wasn’t up to an IPA? What was I thinking?!
To make this one, the brewers first used a pile of Amarillo and Citra Hops, then dry hopped with 4.5 lbs per barrel of Galaxy and Idaho 7 Cryo Hops. To really crank up the fruity fun, they used a super juicy Kveik Yeast for deep notes of peach and apricot.
I already think of Jester King as one of the country’s superlative breweries — I’ve honestly never had a JK brew I didn’t like. So, it shouldn’t surprise me that they’re taking over the Hazy game, too!

Strong abv well balanced/hidden by a great hop blend
That's a sneaky ass 9.5% juice bomb. Really good.
Tasty ddh ipa, juicy and don’t taste any of the abv.
Pretty juicy with a nice balanced bitter hop profile that complements the juiciness. Hazy, medium mouthfeel and actually a really solid NEIPA.
Love the bite on this!
I’ve never had an IPA from JK fun to try!
All around just a wonderful hop forward, juicy IPA. One of the best I have tried. I know JK is known for their wild ales, but this Kveik IPA truly is worth the taste and one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Well done, Jester King!
Tropical/citrus fruit profile along with balanced bitterness hides the 9.5 abv too well
Super delicious imperial IPA. Great body , smooth but hoppy on the tongue, with a great easy finish. Jester king did not disappoint .
