Taxman Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Today’s beer is causing a lively discussion amongst craft beer fans who are trying to get to the bottom of why it’s so delicious. Labelled as a “Belgian-Style Double IPA,” Taxman's Declaration is a boisterous 9% ABV brew that captivates the crowd. So invite your friends over, order a pizza, and spend Friday night in a lively, boozy Belgian vs. IPA debate. But first you gotta nab your share!
Copious amounts of dry-hopped Mosaic, Citra, and Azacca Hops add citrus and tropical fruit flavors to the mildly spiced Belgian yeast base. The way these American flavors interplay with those of the Belgian Ale create a lively debate: “This is obviously a hoppy IPA with Belgian ingredients,” says one Tavour writer. “No, it’s a Belgian Pale with strong hop flavors,” says another. “Incredibly smooth, quite delicate,” says @AdamS. “Strong pallet, drink this with nothing else, you won’t be able to taste the others,” contrasts @Georget.
With this beer, Taxman Brewing Co. is declaring independence from straight-edged beer genres. One thing’s clear: the GABF medalists at Taxman knew exactly what they were doing when they made such a flavorful brew, described by @JakeD as simply “Fantastic.”
