About This Beer
For this year’s version, the Indiana crew started with a blend of roasted and Belgian artisanal malts. They added candi sugar, then bolstered the brew with silky vanilla beans. Finally, they aged the brew in 10-20 year bourbon barrels, adding spirited nuances and smoothing the body to a plush, satiny finish.
Tasting Notes
Those distinct spicy-fruity Belgian nuances pepper the sip, accenting notes of dark chocolate and espresso. Hints of caramel and toffee peer around the edges along with a subtle note of oak. The big 13.3% ABV adds just a touch of warmth to the finish, but you’ll barely notice it behind lingering ripples of crème brûlée.
