Straight forward maple, bourbon and oak!
If you like maple, this is for you. Tons of maple flavor, decent body. Have a friend help with this one!
Lots of maple and drinks almost like a syrup itself. It’s a sugar bomb but if you share it with a friend it’s a real treat
Love cycle but not my favorite
Maple is present and not overbearing. Slight metallic notes. Good body.
What a wonderful, tasty treat. The maple was forefront and thick and delicious.
Its wonderfully full flavored, you immediately get a nice dark sweet that ends off with a good stout finish.
Well balanced maple and coffee-like stout flavor.
Really liked the barrel aging aspect of this beer not sure it would work any other way. Was really thick maybe should have poured it on pancakes after a night imbibing in whiskey.
This is very unique to me. I've never had such a thick beer. This is like oil. It is almost literally a syrup. Too thick, too strong. The maple taste isn't strong but I can tell there is a sweet taste. I can definitely taste the barrel aging, which is extremely interesting. But there is no way I can enjoy drinking this.
The backbone of dark syrup is immediately obvious as soon as you open the bottle. However the simple joy of maple has been transmuted. The body is there but not the spirit. Alcohol over powers and there's an almost savory or sour quality to the heavy sweetness. Perhaps it has spent too long barrel aging? Drinkable but all around too much and not especially enjoyable.
Out of all the Cycle beers I've had, this one probably is my least favorite. Its quick with the sweet, but then it's gone and I'm left with a Jack Daniel's aftertaste. Rare Dos and Cinnamon were Godly brews. But this one just doesn't make the cut. If offered, I wouldn't drink it again.
Probably the best of the cuvee justs.
Was surprised to have a chocolate residual after the maple dissipated. Quite good
