A Note on This Beer
Today’s IPA is one of the most resinous, slap you across the face with a plank of pine IPA experiences in the whole state of Georgia.
Veteran owned, Service Brewing musters their military discipline to concentrate the hoppy intensity of a triple IPA into the crisp and balanced Compass Rose IPA. Dr. Rudi Hops provide a unique woody lemongrass and pine deliciousness with a twist. Then with a masterful hand, the brewers at Service Brewing soothe the bitter herbal hops with a fresh nuttiness of Bohemian malts. All in all, there’s battalions-worth of flavor packed into a tight 6.6% ABV can.
Each pour rings clarion gold with rocky white foam. PIne sap and fresh crushed walnuts rise to the nose buoyed by lemongrass. Slight notes of mangoes from Citra Hops slip out from the sides, but the main experience is rushing coniferous bitter. Fine hop resin creeps into every cornice of the mouth, bringing fresh menthol woodiness. A medium to full body matches the abundant flavors before driving to a dry finish.
This brewery sets aside a portion of all their proceeds to veteran focused charities, showing it knows the meaning of service. It serves them even further with boatloads of crisp resiny hops Compass Rose that’s making the BeerAdvocate Bros say “Wow.”
