my goodness. this will be my yearly xmas beer. so sweet. you can definitely taste the maple syrup.
Strong maple flavor and truly tastes like pancakes
Sweet Christmas in a can
This is was a touch too sweet for my taste. Tons of layers of flavors though. Preferred the standard Gingerbread Stout.
Very good! Surprisingly not too sweet
Taste like breakfast!
amazing pack of xmas stouts..both stay true to the flavor...christmas pancakes was my fav out of the two
Enjoyed both! Big maple fan and I don't mind a little gingerbread. That being said, too much gingerbread is not my favorite experience. Luckily, it was more on the backend of the palate.
GB stout 4.0, Christmas pancakes 4.0
Oddafter taste. Not my fave beer
huge letdown, overwhelmed with syrup and not the other flavors
Good taste. Wish it was creamier.
Both were perfect for the holidays. Love the ginger and maple flavors.
Christmas pancakes doesn’t taste as close to pancakes as I hoped
Gingerbread was eh, Pancakes was pretty good.
Less carbonated and ginger than GBS. Subtle and smooth maple flavor that’s not overpowering. Boozier than GBS.
Christmas pancakes was a great one. Gingerbread not so much.
Exactly as advertised....creamy maple and vanilla replicate maple syrupy pancakes almost perfectly. Delicious.
Better than the normal ginger - maple strong which tones down the cinnamon and ginger - OK
Can really taste the syrup
The pancakes one was nice, you could taste the syrup which was a nice touch. The gingerbread one wasn’t as gingerbread as I would have hoped for.
Tastes like Christmas to me.
An ok stout with a really nice maple flavor.
Maple is a little better but both lead with fructose and are short on distinguishable flavor.
Both are great. Gingerbread and pancakes. Perfect for a beer float.
I really enjoyed both of these
They had the flavors they said but it was a bit much for drinking a whole can. Great beer share beer.
Husband couldn’t get enough of it! Exactly as it says, a sweet stout. Perfect balance! Not too sticky sweet!
Sweet... dessert beer perfect
Not that good, might’ve been spoiled.
Legit taste like pancakes.
Delicious sweet Christmas spices. Pancakes. Syrup. Sweet.
Liquid pancakes with maple syrup
Surprisingly not overly sweet, was amazing and will age the second can for awhile
Syrupy buttery pancakes
Delicious, Christmas breakfast cheer in a can
Better in previous years
Good, needs to be thicker
Maple syrup overload
Classic maple and pancake flavors
Not my favorite
Great stout, tastes like pancakes
This was a pleasant surprise! Tasted like Christmas morning
Great maple sweetness without being syrupy, slight effervescent.
Born on date: 10/29/20. Side-by-side with the base GBS. Aroma is maple and soft ginger. Flavor has a good amount of maple, light ginger, cocoa, and roast. Alcohol is pretty hidden. Well above average. Maple mellows over time
I’m not a big fan of Maple Syrup, I got this beer as a two pack with their Gingerbread stout which is freaking delicious. If you like maple Syrup though, this stouts for you.
Pancake stout was FUCKING DELICIOUS! The gingerbread stout was alright, tasted like gingerbread. Bland but the Pancake stout was great! That maple syrup finish was what I needed this Thanksgiving!
Tasted maple-ly....worth seeking out to drink
Loved the Christmas Pancakes stout! It’s maple flavor made it perfectly balanced for a stout. The Gingerbread was also really good, just not as tasty as the first. Both are awesome though and definitely embody the holiday spirit!
This was in ie the best beers I’ve ever had!
As others have said, the gingerbread was just alright. But the pancakes literally tasted like waffles. I actually said “oh my god” with every sip.
So we live in the Pacific Northwest and lived in Virginia for a couple years. Hardywood is the best in Virginia. We ordered this from Tavour. Poured into an imperial pint glass, even though I was supposed to use a tulip (whatever). Look: Dark, almost black, light foaming head, nice light lacing as we drank it. Smell: Sweet, maple, light gingerbread cookie, light roast. Taste: Maple, with some maple and then some more maple. Maple in the nose, with some honey in the middle with light gingerbread notes (like a cookie) with the maple. On the backend and nose we get a lot of maple and gingerbread cookie. Light spiciness. No notable booziness or bitterness from the hops. Feel: For a bubble imperial stout (it is a labeled as an imperial), it is not super sticky. It is light, but the mouthfeel is rich, full, light carbonation and sticky because of the intense maple. The nice thing about Hardywood is the beer is usually pretty close to their description. This is an imperial, milk stout with spices, honey, and maple syrup, just like described. If you like sweet stouts this is a YUMMY beer. Hardywood is the best in Virginia for a reason... amazing beer place.
Christmas Pancakes is much better than the Gingerbread
4.04/5 look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4 Poured from a 16 ounce can into a tulip glass at 45 degrees per can. Look- Black, medium brown sudsy head, below average lacing, average head retention. Smell- Maple syrup, toasted oats. Taste- Maple syrup, allspice, toasted oats. Feel- Medium body, creamy, mouth warming, below average carbonation, smooth. Overall- Nice Christmas treat.
Killer stout. I thought Christmas Morning couldn't be any better but this kicks it up a notch with maple. But I'm a sucker for anything maple. Nice maple on nose and taste but not too much. Just right.
Nice boozey Stout to sip on front of the fire watching Hallmark movies at Christmas time. Sweet maple taste that complements the smooth coffee taste
I love when the gingerbread stout cones out. You can actually taste the gingerbread and it’s not to overpowering just right. Christmas pancakes was delicious as well
Sweet, but it was a delicious treat while while watching the kids open presents
Daily corona battle. Sleep training begins edition. Gingerbread stout was Friggin’ delicious. Cinnamon and Christmas spirit dominate, but ginger emerges delightfully with warmth. If it makes it that long.
I can always do with more maple. Loved this.
This tastes like exactly what the can says it is. Delicious.
A pretty good adjunct stout. Balanced, not too sweet. No odf flavors. Would drink again.
PANCAKES. The can practically started yelling that at me as soon as I opened it and it kept yellin PANCAKES all the way to the last drop.
Amazing! Beautiful! Wonderful maple syrup pancake taste and a good stout.
Move over Christmas morning pancakes!
Not bad at all!
