About This Beer

If I were to drown, I'd hope it would at least be in a chocolate fountain. I think I'd be okay with a Chocolate Hazelnut Death.

Iron Horse Brewery has long been a Washington cult favorite. Now the secret’s out and you can enjoy their brews no matter where you are!

Though once you taste Chocolate Hazelnut Death, there’s a good chance you’ll feel like you’ve arrived in paradise!

As delicious as it is to drink, it’s a fantastic addition to your favorite chocolate bundt recipe and a sensational baking beer!

Tasting Notes

The newest edition in Iron Horse Brewery’s Death series is smooth and dark, just like its cousins. They infused chocolate and hazelnut into a base of their flagship brew, creating a balanced Dark Ale that beckons with an enticing cocoa aroma. A rounded hazelnut hum and zip of orange zest make for a finish that begs another taste.

smooth. the combination of chocolate and hazelnut is perfect, however the orange in the aftertaste has yet to deepen the taste.

Nose is a chocolate potpourri, palate is hazelnut and cocoa nib…maybe the back end has a hint of orange peel, but it’s minimal. overall I like it, but it’s not one I’d seek out again.

Fantastic dark ale. Solid hazelnut profile. Wasn't getting any orange but that didn't take anything away.
