A Note on This Beer
Chiromancer is a fancy word for ‘palm reader.’ Like at that back booth at the carnival, where someone with a crystal ball and too many scarves looks at your hand and predicts your future.
I’m no psychic, but I bet I can predict what will happen if you manage to snag one of these hyper-limited bottles from Seattle’s Sovereign Brewing.
When you first open the bottle, you’ll be startled and delighted by spicy aromas of real coriander and orange zest from the Witbier base. Then, you’ll be impressed as the brew’s bouquet slides towards mild grassy funk, thanks to bottle conditioning with Brettanomyces yeast.
Take a sip, and you’ll find yourself enchanted by Chiromancer’s refreshingly tart profile and notes of tangy lemon. Then, the well rounded, slightly woody finish from 15 months of aging in oak barrels will leave you craving another mouthful.
After all that, you’ll probably find yourself wondering why you’ve never heard of Sovereign before. That one’s easy — they’re the brand new Wild and Funky offshoot of Standard Brewing, one of Eater’s Best Seattle Breweries. This is the very first beer of theirs we’ve shared!
If you want to be among the first outside of the city to meet the new kid on Seattle’s wild and funky block, grab one of these bottles before our stash runs out. I predict it won’t last long.
