About This Beer

Burley Oak’s J.R.E.A.M. series boasts some of the highest-rated Fruited Sours in the world! It’s safe to say that this crew knows a thing or two about thick-sipping, crazy adjunct brews.

So when they told us they consider their carrot juice, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, orange zest, and lactose variant a “cult classic” — well, we had to snag a stash!

Tasting Notes

This concoction takes the (carrot) cake! Just like its namesake, waves of savory-sweet carrots and dusky spices flow through each rich gulp. Swirls of milk sugar and vanilla conjure the essence of frosting, while a final citrus zip accentuates the confectionary nuances.

too much carrot juice flavor which overpowers the cinnamon and lactose slightly

Nice carrot cake, brown sugar and cinnamon aroma and flavor. Lightly tart and dessert-like.

Nothing remarkable about this. Kind of like carrot juice with a really earthy flavor.

One of the oddest beers I’ve had, but undeniably scrumptious. Sweet as it rolls across the tongue, but finishes like a solid beer. I’d highly recommend.

Smells like fresh cut grass. Though, there was an after taste of brown sugar, but that was then interrupted by the next sip.

A good balance of sweet and sour. I definitely taste the carrot cake. It’s got some good thickness to the consistency which I like.

Infected, exploding can: aroma and flavor were utterly sour, with no remaining trace of any cake-like sweetness or spicing. I tried to reframe it in my mind as a carrot wild ale, but couldn’t get past more than a few sips. Unfortunate drain pour.

Very chunking and thick, cakey almost? flavor was there but a little tough to down, a sweet floral fruity sip with a slightly bitter finish
