About This Beer
To craft Candy Captain, the Carolina crew aged a rich, Barleywine base in bourbon barrels until it took on waves of cask character. Then they conditioned it on toasted coconut and candy cap mushroom — fungi known for their maple-like sweetness.
Tasting Notes
We’re expecting deep notes of brown sugar, crème brûlée, and raisin to sail across a sea of pronounced maple syrup tones. Meanwhile, whispers of wood char and whiskey should linger long after the finish, barely hinting at the 12.5% ABV.
