A Note on This Beer
Today’s beer is called Bustin’ Surf Boards and I don’t know what the surfing is like in Germany — or in Minnesota, for that matter. But, I do know that the Land of 10,000 Lakes has a super authentic German beer, thanks to the folks at Junkyard Brewing!
The brewers used almost entirely German ingredients, achieving a classic Kölsch that delicately dances between hoppy, malty, and crisp, biscuity flavor.
German Hallertau and Saphir Hops introduce a prominent spicy, herbaceous bitterness, balanced with a faintly fruity, dry finish.
A soft, light body makes for a sensationally refreshing sip — the kind that begs to be enjoyed while soaking in the summer sun.
The complete package is a straw-gold sipper full of bready flavor that effortlessly flows between herbal hop notes, lush golden grains, and a lemon-like, dry finish. At 5.8% ABV, this brew is a bit bolder and more robust than the average Kölsch, while remaining very true to the style’s crushable roots.
For Deutsche beer diehards looking for a new brew, or anyone looking for a refreshing way to say guten tag to summer, the solution resides happily in Minnesota’s Junkyard.
