A Note on This Beer
When was the last time you had a beer built by and for kings?
Today’s brew is a love letter to the historic Berliner Weisse style that Frederick The Great himself once brewed! The award winning crew at Firestone Walker's Barrelworks crafted today’s historic Bretta Weisse in honor of the most popular style in old Berlin.
The brewers aged this ode in French oak foeders for 8 months to create complex barrel character. But that was just the beginning of its journey. This ultra-rare 2016 vintage spent the last 5 years carefully aging in Firestone Walker’s cellar, adding all kinds of nuance and complexity!
Subtle funk and ester fruit aromas preface every taste. Citrus fills the beginning of the sip, before diving in with a pillowy body and tinges of oak, enveloped in a firm acidity. A crisp and dry mouthfeel lingers at the finish.
Looking for a touch of history in your beer fridge or cellar? This take on the classic style elevates any collection with its historic roots AND incredible cellaring by Firestone Walker!
Firestone Walker is adorned in craft awards and hype, from GABF Gold to Brussels Beer Challenge medals, to being called “The Best American Brewery Of The Decade” By Paste Magazine!
