Breakfast Bar: Java Coco-Crunch
Southern Grist Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Cereal isn’t just a breakfast food. In my opinion, the best time to dive into a bowl is in the middle of the afternoon — especially if that cereal is covered in chocolate.
Today’s luscious Imperial Stout, Breakfast Bar: Java Coco Crunch is for the afternoon snackers like me who can’t get enough of Cocoa Krispies and Count Chocula. The confectioners at Southern Grist loaded it with coffee, vanilla granola clusters, toasted coconut, almonds, and lactose.
Each roasty sip pours as silky as chocolate syrup, with an intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and creamy coconut. The taste is a smorgasbord of chocolate covered almonds and Frosted Flakes!
Fans on Untappd are cuckoo for these boozy Cocoa Puffs, rating them a sweet 4.30!
But, unlike those sugar high-inducing treats of your childhood, you won’t find Java Coco Crunch in the cereal aisle. In fact, you’d be lucky to spot it anywhere outside of Tennessee!
Snag yours fast, ‘cause our stash is bound to disappear before you can say, “Theirrrrrr GREAT!”

Amazing flavor. Surprisingly the granola comes through fantastic. Toasted coconut is my favorite flavor prof to a stout. Does not disappoint.
Lots of chocolate and coconut up front. Latent almond follows and sweetness. Balance works well.
Loving this! Very smooth and you can actually taste both the coconut and coffee
Tastes like Cocoa Krispies served in a bowl of coffee stout. Delicious!
Thin viscosity. Light carb. Sweet coffee nose. Sweet coffee with slight tangs of coconut and vanilla. Kinda wish this had a little more body to it, but overall it's a very decent brew.
Watery but good
Thinner than I thought. Still tasty
Hits every note! Very tasty.
Delicious tastes like Coco Puffs
Name certainly fits the taste.. Smooth and tasty
Nice stout with a good upfront taste and after taste. Mouthfeel is too thin though. Could use a little more carbonation too. Overall enjoyable though.
Pretty much what I remember about cocoa crispies
Really good. I do strongly recommend for anyone who wants a solid chocolatey stout. Could have a bit more of a creamy taste. The after taste is good too. Would buy again.
Coffee is prevalent. Very good stout
coconut and chocolate is an amazing combo!
to much coconut for me
