Bramble (Batch 1)
A Note on This Beer
I hope you and your kin are ready for some real tidings of comfort and joy! Today’s your chance to lock down two exclusive bottles from the world-renowned Mead specialists at Schramm’s!
You can find a copy of co-founder Ken Schramm’s book “The Compleat Meadmaker” at pretty much every meadery in America. He is the godfather of the style — 8 of the Top 10 highest-rated Fruited Meads on Untappd are Schramm’s!
And, while most meaderies tend to rely on fruit syrups and processed purées, Schramm’s Mead uses only the finest whole fruit ingredients and unfiltered raw honey. Not even Santa and his elves could match the effort that goes into every bottle.
So, while you’re sitting around the fire roasting chestnuts with the family (or just shooting the breeze about what a whirlwind year it’s been) pop open one of these Meads and really get the festivities flowing. Or, tie a bow around it and leave it under the tree to bring a bit of elegance to a loved one!
Here’s what you and yours have to look forward to:
Bramble+ (Batch 1) — 12% ABV
As my grandmother likes to say, nothing makes the holidays bright and merry quite like a bottle of top-shelf liquor. And Schramm’s transforms the whole bramble patch into a top-shelf bottle of belly-warming berry nectar with this one!
Their original Bramble is a mainstay among Schramm’s fans — they’ve crowned it with a staggering 4.58 on Untappd. The meadery crafts it with over 1 ton of boysenberries, blackberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries.
And with Bramble+, there’s even more to be bright and “berry” about! The experts at Schramm’s add a dose of loganberries to this new brew for a touch of acidity that lends even more complexity to each taste.
With every honey-smooth sip, all those sweet and sour berries bounce across the tongue together like dreams of sugar-coated gumdrops. It’s a jammy wonderland of juicy berry flavors that run deep throughout each mouthful. Aunt Carol’s homemade blackberry wine can’t stand a chance against Bramble+.
*Too new for ratings!
Black Agnes (Batch 12) — 11% ABV
Holiday treats shouldn’t be all about the candy canes and eggnog — sometimes, something with a little bit more bite is in order.
Brewed with more than 1 ton of black currants — a type of berry that’s been cultivated in the British Isles longer than Santa’s been hiding presents under trees — Black Agnes is that very something. And, it’s got a miraculous 4.67 UT rating that’ll really jingle some bells at the holiday dinner!
The juicy black currants lend a mouth-puckering tartness to each thick sip, with ever present undertones of wild flower and vanilla. The sharp acidity is incredibly well-balanced against the sweetness of premium honey in a way that keeps it drinkable and exciting.
If you want to amp up the holiday cheer this season, whip out a bottle of Black Agnes and divvy up some tastes for the family. This juicy elixir is sure to make the night merry for one and for all.
*Rated 4.67 on Untappd!
We’ve done our best to procure as many bottles as Schramm’s could part with, but we apologize in advance for not being able to accommodate everyone. Check back for more upcoming holiday treats!

For those who love mead
This mead was one of my favorite I’ve had. Holy smokes.
Possibly my favorite from Schramm’s
Boozy and decadently delicious
Luscious berries, slightly tasty, smooth long finish.
Tasted warm. Heady and sweet, loads of dark fruit flavors like black raspberry and boysenberry, finishes syrupy and light. Well balanced combination that doesn't overwhelm.
