Bourbon, oak, deep, caramel, toffee
Perfect barleywine. not too sweet, nice barrel.
Smooth for the big ABV, get notes of caramel and vanilla
Boozy but wonderful. Barelywine fans can be proud about this beer.
Strong Carmel smell and taste, lasting notes of molasses. Good stuff, smooth.
One of the best BA Barleywines out there
Barleywine is either good or bad, but age it in a bourbon barrel...magical!
Really really good. I love this style and this one is top notch. The write up is spot on. Let this age for four years and it will be a 6 star beer. Wish I had more.
Exactly how I want my BW to taste.. Rolos, toffee, just enough barrel presence for some oaky tannins and vanilla, little heat
Good BW. Great toffee and barrel
Classic quintessential BBA English barley wine. A touch sweet but in line with the style
Good caramel and toffee. Glad I got an extra
Maybe I’m just not into barley wines.
True to its description this tastes like a pecan pie. And like pecan pie, I’m satisfied with just once slice. Very enjoyable, I’ll eat it if it’s available, but it’s not something I’m going to be wishing for more than once a year.
Awesome. Perfect toffee notes. They an English barleywine should be. Not over hot from the barrel aging.
Delicious treat for a special evening.
One of THEE best!! I’m saving my 2nd bottle for Thanksgiving. Pecan pie flavors making me all nostalgic.
Smooth with a hint of sweetness, the high abv isn't even noticed. Sadly I couldn't really get the bourbon barrel taste, but overall great beer
Brown suger coated pecan, with a little toffee. Vanilla, oak, with some booze. Excellent beer
Great takes with a punch
This one didn't hit on the candied notes I was looking for. Good Barleywine, but hoping for better things with the 2021 drop.
Flavor is of toast, oak, tobacco, molasses, plum, raisin, apple, walnut, and bourbon. Very good barleywine, lots a flavor and not as sweet as a lot of English style BWs usually are. Drinks pretty slow and very boozy. A nice fireside beer for after dinner this Thanksgiving.
