A Note on This Beer
There’s this segment in entertainment magazines called, “Celebrities: They’re Just Like Us!” And they show Leonardo diCaprio going to the grocery store or Clint Eastwood getting gas.
Well, we have something like that here at Tavour, but instead of celebrities, it's called “Brewers: They’re Just Like Us!” And today, we’re featuring the folks at Westbound & Down.
See, before we were lucky enough to snag our first beer from them, these guys were longtime Tavour members — how cool is that?!
So, of course we were excited when we were able to share a small selection of their barrel-aged masterpieces, last year. Like Louie, their Rye Barrel Aged Barleywine that was so rich and endlessly decadent, it earned a stellar 4.13 from our members.
But since these brewers are so small-batch — and you guys loved it so much — it disappeared so fast, most of you didn’t even have a chance at it!
Which is why we’re beyond stoked to bring Louie back!
Only this time, this 14% ABV behemoth has been slumbering in a combination of George Dickel Bourbon Barrels and Kelvin Cooperage New Char #3 Barrels for 12 months until it achieved epic levels of creme brulee and nutty toffee goodness.
And just like last year, we only managed a tiny amount of Bourbon Barrel Louie — 240 bottles to be exact!
So, if you missed out the last time, now’s your chance to be one of only 240 people to experience this small batch treasure.

This was so good and waiting for the next release to appear in my market
edges out the double barrel for me.
