Bourbon Barrel Aged Weekend
Prairie Artisan Ales
A Note on This Beer
S’mores season is just around the corner, but until those campfire nights arrive, I’ll be sippin’ today’s Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout.
This boozy 14.2% ABV beauty tastes just like those melty, gooey, freshly-smooshed desserts, but with an extra decadent sprinkle of coconut and a drizzle of caramel. That’s because Prairie Artisan Ales loaded it with creamy marshmallow, rich caramel, fudgy cacao nibs, and toasted coconut!
Each gulp offers mellow warmth and a sweet vanilla finish, thanks to bourbon barrel aging — no fire required.
Tasters on UT are feelin’ this creamy, chocolate delight, too — they give it a cheers-worthy 4.51 UT-rating. @Chad B. says it’s the “Best beer I’ve had in awhile...I should have bought all of these!”
It’s time to start making plans for the weekend, specifically, a s’mores-inspired Bourbon Barrel-Aged Weekend!

Dessert style beer with some barrel love. Excellent brew.
You can taste the prairie
Not my favorite from Prairie. They are kings of the pastry stout, but this tasted off to me. Way too much of a sugar bomb to appreciate the subtleties.
Weekend was already really good, but you have to like dessert stouts to enjoy this. The barrel cut just enough into the richness and sweetness of this to make it better.
OMG!!! Wow!!! Thick! Bourbon kissed almond joy without the almonds. Coconut strong on the nose. Marshmallow and vanilla in your face... followed by coconut. A whisper of bourbon and all chased with a tad of bitter chocolate. Thick and chewy, yet smooth and velvety. After one sip, instantly one of my favorites.
Though it may be small in stature it sure does have a big and bold flavor. Make sure you share with friends and family. However, that means you need to grab several bottles. Cheers 🍻
Love Prairie artisan ales’ stouts. The marshmallow here was a noted change from the pastry stouts I associate with them. Nice cap to a Saturday. Marshmallow wasn’t too strong and on the whole the beer was balanced with cocoa and BBA making their presence known and the sweetness@coconut curbing hard edges of strong beer.
Smooth and nails the flavor
Really nice BBA flavour in conjunction with the coconut and vanilla. Nice creaminess and body.
Amazingly done..the chocolate taste is so smooth and creamy and add the 14.2%...just perfect.
deep flavor & booze
Not at all what I was expecting
Very much a pastry stout. Not in a bad way. Very tasty, just would've preferred a little more roast on this to balance the sweetness
Yup, this was a fudgy banger
Soo good. Nice chocolate and coconut flavor
An absolute winner.
One of the tastier shelf stouts. Sweet goodness
With the marshmellow chocolate goodness, and a less refined barrel that tamps down the sweetness while giving huge oaky notes, this is a poor man's Blessed
So much coconut and marshmallow. One of the better Prairie stouts I’ve had in a while.
The adjuncts don’t play well with the body, feels disjoint
Decent prairie bba stout
Not my vibe so I didn't like it. That being said I love the bottle image though
Beautiful. Such nice barrel character. So smooth. Weekend was already good
Bourbon, choc, coffee
Way sweeter than I expected
It’s definitely a sweet stout, but one of the best beers (BA or otherwise) that Prairie makes. Definitely a buy.
This was okay, not too exceptional. My drinking buddy really liked it. Had some flavor in it that wasn’t that good.
Sweet boozy chocolate marshmallow goodness. Rich but not syrupy.
A bit too much going imo and a bit sweet for me to be happy i bought 2
Solid ba stout
All the flavors hit and that barrel crushes!
Marshmallow and coconut. Perfect combination
Slightly below paradise
Dark, Boozy, Sweet and pure Decadence! Prairie never disappoints!!
Rich sweet BBA chocolate. Love this, wish I would’ve gotten more. If it comes back, I’m snagging them all!
Another great beer from Prairie.
Roasty, chocolate, marshmallow, bourbon. And very boozy.
Absolutely delicious - rich chocolate and marshmallow fluff with a hint of whiskey
Might be the best beer I've gotten on this app. Paired perfectly with a plate of chocolate chip cookies on Christmas eve.
Balanced! Wonderful barrel notes and decent amount of coconut
Not a stout guy but thanks to Tavour I developed a love these Bourbon barrel bottles. This was delicious. Packed with flavor
