Blumpearry Puff Tart
The Brewing Projekt
A Note on This Beer
“The blumpearries taste like blumpearries!” - Me, after trying today’s beer.
A blumpeary is a cross between a blueberry, a plum, and a pear. I’ve been trying to figure out how to grow them ever since I first tried Blumpearry Puff Tart.
The crew at The Brewing Projekt tell me they don’t actually exist. They claim they used nothing but real plums, blueberries, pears, marshmallow, vanilla, and a touch of creamy lactose to crank up the fruit-smoothie flavors on this latest addition to the Puff Tart series. But, I don’t believe them.
The flavors just meld together too smoothly for this to be a product of fruit blending! This silky, creamy, tangy brew doesn’t taste like 3 different fruits, it just tastes like blumpearries. Sweet, tart, crisp, and juicy blumpearries.
So, here’s my theory: these brewers have an experimental greenhouse hidden someplace in their hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and they use it to breed novel varieties of top secret fruit! These berry patch-meets-orchard flavors simply can’t be explained by conventional produce.
However they make it, you guys love the Puff Tart series — these beers always go fast, and earn 4+ ratings from Tavour members. Which means, you’ll have a lot of competition if you want to snag a can of Blumpeary.

I was skeptical of this fruit combination. But, man, does it work! It's a unique and flavorful beer. Brewing Projekt always seems to deliver.
Thick, tart, smooth, and delicious! An excellent brew
Can taste a lot of plum flavor. Still really good taste !
Delicious & Smooth. Tasted more of Blueberries with a hint of Vanilla. Definitely recommended to anymore who loves Fruited Sours!
Fruit snacks from when I was a kid
Pretty good, not too sour. Can taste the dairy.
Can't get enough of these Puff Tarts
Maybe a little too much plum for liking.
Good flavor, only complaint is the plum was a little strong for me. The other flavors don’t shine through quite as much as I’d have liked. But overall still a very good Fruited Sour
Could be thicccer but very pleasant taste and nice layering within the fruits
Probably the best tasting fruited sour I have had in my life so far. I really found this one to be special. May be overly sweet to some beer drinkers, but I loved it.
Not a favorite, overly sweet.
This is amazing. I wish I had purchased more.
Liquid fruit leather
This is great..tool this can to the bar and the barmaid downed it and wants more!!
More hoppy than I was expecting.
Good tasting sour beer, the plum isn’t my thing but it was a great beer to try! I recommend it
Tart and good
A bit tart but nice and fruity.
I hate that I like this... it’s a delicious juice beverage.
It is what it is. Tasty, but I didn’t finish it.
Thick and fruity but not that sour.
Nice and tart
Could have been thicker
I love the puff tarts. They all have every flavor they say. This one is no different. But I still say they’re more of a dessert beer than a sour.
Very interesting blend of fruits. Blueberry and plum outshines the pear. Not a bad Puff Tart but prefer their other ones more.
Purchased 4 of the puff tarts, this was nicest flavor combo
Not as intense as other Puff Tarts. Easy drinking and less sour. Still smoothie thick though. Purée plum, blueberry and pear.
Very tasty and highly recommended. This is a dessert, though. It’s great for what it is but it’s not what I want when I want a beer. So glad I tried it. Very delicious.
Would love to get more. Fruity tarty taste with plum and blueberry.
Loved all the flavors in this one! The blueberry, plum and pear was a killer combo.
Mostly just plum & blueberry overpowering. Would have rated higher if I could taste ALL the flavors.
A very fruity beer that I wish I ordered more of. A nice beer to have in place of dessert.
Solid Puff as always
Sweet and luxurious is an understatement here. Surprisingly blueberry forward, with plum notes, and finally the ripe pear sweetness.
Beautiful color. Surprisingly good. Definitely get the pear.
Love the fruited sours from brewing projekt but this one was a little sweet for me.
Worst puff tart I have tasted. Just too sweet.
A bit too sweet. Not my favorite puff tart, but that being said, still better than plenty of other beers I’ve tried recently. I got all the fruit flavors out of this one.
Whomever thought to put these flavors together, I'd like to give you a big hug once covid is part. This flavor is a new flavor that I would love to see in other things.
Blueberry heavy with a light plum and pear taste.
Not my favorite but that could be that I don’t like plum and pear mixed after trying this.
This one had something weird about the taste, this is one that could have potential if done differently
Not very sour, just slightly tart. More like a Berliner. Plum and blueberry on the nose. Lots of blueberry notes that mellow into pear on the finish. Vanilla is subtle and the lactose adds a nice texture.
Loved the plum in this . Perfect touch
Extremely bitter! Be careful.
V8 Fruit Juice! 😂 good. No alcohol bite whatsoever. Even though it is only 4%.
Creamy and sweet, perfectly unique blend of fruit, with the plumb strong up front, fading quickly into blueberry and pear, then fading into a tart vanilla lactose. Great dessert brew.
Super good beer! Tart and easy to drink
A sour ale, ordered from Tavour and poured into a pint glass. Look: Dark red, the color of a plum. Very little head and no head lasting. As we drank, there was no lacing, but an intense amount of fruit puree left on the glass. Smell: Vanilla, plums, blueberry, some pear. Taste: Taste almost more like a Berlinger. Super fruity, we got light sour plums up front, blueberry in the middle and pear that lingers after a good swallow. The vanilla is subtle but present. Incredibly smooth. Mouthfeel: Thick (almost syrupy, but not in a bad way). Light carbonation. Smooth feel, the sour isn't acidity probably because of the milk sugar. We are trying a bunch of sours and this was a really smooth contribution to those tries. We loved this beer because the mouthfeel, the smell and the taste was exactly what the can describes.
To much plum
The puff series beers are great. I especially like the plum on this one
Super fruity and tasty
My first fruited sour and I am highly impressed! Normally sours are a little too sour for me but this seemed very well balanced. It was just sour enough to balance the sweet fruit. Tastes just like the name implies. Very well crafted and executed beer.
Not too thick, really good balance of sweet and sour. The pear is virtually non existent being over run by the plum, flashes of blueberry that almost taste like a blueberry fruit roll up. Overall it is very good if you like plums and sours.
Very good flavor, lots of blueberry with a pear and plum finish/aftertaste.
The pearl and plum are very much present and tame the blueberry. Very interesting and good. Nice job!
Loving dessert sours right now and this one is right on. Full bodied, fruity, sweet, and the incredible ingredients come out rich with flavor.
