Blackberry Meyer Lemon Ale
A Note on This Beer
In Portland, Oregon, the saying is “Keep Portland Weird.”
When the popular PNW brewers at Ecliptic called up their buddies across the way at Von Ebert to make a beer together, they wanted to make more than just a delicious brew — they wanted something off the beaten path! The timing was just right, too; Von Ebert received the 2020 Innovator of the Year award from the Oregon Brewers Guild!
This latest cosmic collaboration is an innovation in itself, taking Norwegian Kveik yeast-fermented ale and combining it with fresh blueberries and real meyer lemons. The result is a lush, deep red pour with a citrusy, refreshing aroma.
On every sip, the Cascade, Columbus, Mandarina Bavaria, and Strata Hops highlight the fruity, tropical flavors before the meyer lemon returns for just a touch of pucker at the finish.
With a swirl of refreshing fruits and delicious hop blends, this brew has folks clamoring for the Oregonian collab: @Michael P. says “Von Ebert collabs don’t disappoint[…] and this is super crushable!”
Portland may be as weird as ever, but this collaborative craft brew makes perfect sense. Tavour members try some of the first of this refreshing new addition to the Cosmic Collaborations series!

a little too hoppy, not much lemon or blackberry on the palate at all
Smooth brew, has a little bitter aftertaste but otherwise is very tasty
Absolutely no taste of raspberry or lemon. It was like filtered piss. Like someone drank 30 coors lights and pissed into a can. Gross.
Something went wrong with this batch. Soapy, astringent flavor. Might’ve left it sit on the yeast for a little too long homies. Reminds me of my early home brew efforts...
flat and no good flavor. a little bitter at the end too. i’m not a fan
I agree with other notes, this batch had some issue with some part of the process. I’m sure this would have been a great fruity beer, but it just tastes like soury, soapy bleh.
In a nut shell this beer sucks a lot of work went into it but it just didn’t pan out better luck next time
Not a great beer. Decent and citrus on the tongue, but finishes bitter. Was hoping the reviews were wrong, but they were right. My worst review yet.
didnt get lemon or blackberry profiles
Possibly the worst beer I’ve ever had. Don’t buy this. No nose at all, weird initial flavor and then no flavor whatsoever. Completely bland. Didn’t even bother finishing it.
Got excited by the color being what you’d expect of an ale full of blackberries but was immediately let down by what my initial impression could be described as hoppy static water.
Complete garbage. Tavour needs better quality control
easily the worst beer I have had on here. yikes
sounds great on paper… execution, not so much… lacking in flavor and complexity…
No fruit character. not earthy, but just instead. just a bad beer.
The most disappointing purchase by far. Soapy taste right off the bat and not one hint of blackberry or lemon. Had high hopes for this one and was extremely let down.
it was fine. definitely got the lemon, but got no blackberry
the taste falls woefully short of the described flavors, resolving to a confused background sense of the blackberry and lemon taste, but overpowered by a bland and flat hoppy flavor
I did not get lemon or blackberry flavor. The whole profile was pretty disappointing. It was bitter and tasted like an IPA, which I was not wanting at all.
Very little of the blackberry or lemon comes through. Overall tastes like a bland ale. Bitter finish reminiscent of an IPA.
