A Note on This Beer
Baerlic Brewing is a must-try star on the rise; they just won two medals at the 2017 Best of Craft Beers Awards and with their 9.1% ABV ‘Black Grove’ Imperial Stout shows their dark beer expertise at its most extreme.
This Stout is filled with so much black and chocolate malts that it begins to taste like a bittersweet chocolate bar spiked with orange zest.
Rich, 80% cocoa content melts onto your tongue as you sip. Cascade Hops bring a touch of bright citrus. A dash of evaporated cane sugar in its most raw form gives ‘Black Grove’ a flash of molasses flavor and razor sharp dryness that echos down corridors of char and roasts.
Few experiences in craft beer can match the thrill of seeing what an up-and-coming brewery does for their biggest and darkest beer on the menu. ‘Black Grove’s ominously charred yet ultimately smooth and balanced bittersweet chocolate flavors reveal that Baerlic can deliver flavors with purity and intensity - they are a force to be reckoned with.
