Spot on flavor
Tastes just like Black Forest cake. First sip you taste and smell the rich chocolate with a hint of buttercream and cherry. I like that the cherry doesn’t taste like cough syrup. Very good.
Rich and delicious
Truly tastes like you’re drinking Black Forest cake.
Surprisingly good. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this beer but the flavors that came through were distinct, crisp and enjoyable. A really nice blend.
I would say this beer did a really good job of getting the chocolate and cherry flavors. Definitely had that rich and sweet taste to it just like a cake. Was a little too much for me but I did like that it was very smooth and had no after taste.
Cherry comes through great. Throw some whipped cream on this and it'd be like drinking an actual black forest cake (or.... Vanilla ice cream for a beer float? Now there's an idea. Death by sugar coma doesn't sound that terrible)
Right on the nose
Got the Black Forest cake profile. I mean I guess I missed pieces of cherries... but I loved this. Looking forward to sharing the next one with someone to talk about it. The chocolate hung back incredible well integrated with the base beer. And then the other flavors came out from that. The scents had me enjoying the temperature rise and coming back to smell instead of drinking.
The smell is on point. Sweet, sugary, pastry. The taste is disappointing after smelling it. Cherry purée is there but not too much. Hubbard’s Cave tends to have off aftertastes with their stouts.
Taste just like chocolate cake, went down so quick and and 9.5% it does the job just right. Great dessert beer.
Tastes exactly like s beet smoothie should. Sweet delight.
Exactly like the dessert in such an enjoyable way. The nose is incredible.
My two favorite breweries have whipped up something special.
This one was fantastic. A lot of cherry. Tasted like the description. Will order again if I can.
Too much cherry flavor for me. Interesting beer though
Notes of chocolate and cherry dance well together. Loads of milk sugar make for a creamy finish and after taste. Collabs rock!
Look: Dark brown almost black, with a small 1/4 finger sized tan head that dissipated and left a small ring of foam. Smell: Big milk chocolate, sweet vanilla, and a little cherry. Taste: Sweet chocolate cake up front, followed by cocoa, small and underlying cherry that lingers with some vanilla. As it warmed we got more cherry, but it was more Chocolate cake with some cherry, followed by vanilla and lingering sweet cherry. Hints of booze in the nose at the end. No hop character at all. Feel: Full body, almost syrupy, little carbonation. Somewhat drying, leaving you wanting more. The lactose really added to the smooth feel and it sits well with the light carbonation on your tongue. What can you say about Hubbards Cave brews? Super creative dark stuff, which keeps us coming back to try more of their stuff. We live in the Portland OR area and get HC from Tavour in Seattle, but it is always worth it. They do dark beer well and they nailed the Black Forest Cake idea they had with this one. Definitely a dessert beer. Cheers everyone!
Great Black Forest flavor. Getting chocolate with a little bit of cherry. Odd aftertaste. Only reason my rating isn’t higher. EDIT: Wow, that aftertaste is unpleasant. Lowered my rating a point.
Definitely not for everyone, but what an amazing blend of sweet, cherry, and chocolate.
It is bBlack Forrest Cake in a can!
Chocolate aroma when opening the can yields to chocolate and cherry notes.
Another hit from Untitled Art and Hubbard's Cave! This is a strongly fudge forward stout with the cherry blending very well.
Easily my favorite from the order. This has got to be one of the better stouts I've ever had.
Grows on you, but a little too sweet to start with
Literally tastes like a cake milkshake
Someone finally figured out how to extract cake and make it liquid. Something you need to be in the right mood for - cherry and chocolate come across strong, quite sweet. Delicious.
Decedent chocolate and cherry cake stout.
What they meant it to be
Good flavor but a bit rich
Very rich, huge cherry flavor. Just like the cake.
Very rich, cake in liquid form. Definitely a end of the night dessert beer. Pour this over ice cream and make a boozy float.
Didn’t like the cherry. Super sweet.
Tastes as described.
One of the best stouts I’ve ever had. -Sincerely, a sour drinker
Chocolate notes but seems a little watered down.
This stuff is seriously sweet and very delicious. Even a picky drinker could enjoy. Drank to celebrate an anniversary and it was definitely a great time.
One of the best stouts I’ve had in a while
Thought it was delicious. Super sweet but that was expected.
Great dessert beer. Really strong flavors of cherry and chocolate. Heavy creamy mouth feel
Not my style
Smells just like chocolate cake, tastes like one to
If you see this beer, fucking get it! Amazing 👏
Masterful stout with bursting sour cherries on nose and palette and nicely balanced with chocolate. This totally immerses all your senses into this decadent dessert-inspired treat.
I could really taste the cherry in this!
Good. Little too much cherry almost made it too artificially tasting.
Great chocolate flavor with just that light hint of cherry like a black forest cake.
Heavy chocolate nibs and black cherry
12oz can from Tavour. Dark, murky brown pour with a minimal amount of fine brown head. Rich chocolaty aroma, sugary sweet. Taste heaps on the chocolate as well, minor notes of coconut and cherries. Nailed the flavors here, but comes off a bit too sweet.
Untitled and Hubbard's KILLED IT. This is absolutely delicious
Juicy cherries, rich chocolate, and a mouthfeel like cake batter. This was a knockout
wow. this not only smells like chocolate cake but tastes like like it too. nice cherry flavor. very tasty, highly recommend.
Tastes like a black forest cake. I don't know what magic this is but hell yes.
This tastes exactly like someone blended up chocolate cake and added alcohol. This is excellent
Literally tastes like a Black Forest cake
Tastes just like the cake my mom used to make!!!
Berry n choc
Worth a shot.
Gave to someone as a gift and they said it was one of the best stouts they’ve ever had!!
Yes! Yes! Yes! This is not like black forest cake. It is black forest cake!
rich, decadent and better then cake
Not as good as the Wisconsin stout. Good but not the best!
