*Bistro Blackberry Pancakes
Energy City Brewing
A Note on This Beer
I love brunch, but it always comes with an enormous dilemma: do I go savory or sweet?
Go ahead and whip up that omelette or crank out your best quiche, because today’s 4.32 UT-rated brew has the sweet brunch front covered — and it’s serving up delicious blackberry pancakes!
The brewers packed this Berliner-Weisse with heaps of juicy blackberries and drizzled it all in rich maple syrup for authentic, berried-up, flapjack flavor.
Each deep maroon pour is opulently thick and oozes maple and dark berry aroma. Every swig swims with the luscious, sweet-tart tang of ripe blackberries rolled in fluffy cake and coated in decadent maple syrup.
Illinois locals are gobsmacked by these flapjacks and now’s your chance to try them too!
Next weekend, save yourself the sticky mess of cooking sweets, and compliment your best savory brunch dish with a few of Energy City’s scrumptious breakfast brews!

Tastes like a thick stack of pancakes with a wonderful blackberry syrup.
I think I'll stick to your fruity beers than the desert, snack, or breakfast like beers. I'll give you good points since it's very accurate on taste with that maple blackberry syrup scent and aftertaste. Though I don't have that kind of sweet tooth unfortunately.
too much maple for me
like pancake syrup. soo good.
Tastes like drinking a blackberry pancake drenched in syrup. Nailed the flavor.
sweet, maple-y, fruity. I’d drink this beer forever
little to much syrup flavor coming through for my like taste
maple, berry , thick , sour at the end
Delicious, tons of maple syruppy flavor. Please bring back Pink Slip.
tastes like blackberry syrup. Thick. really tasty ideally I would wanna split one but would definitely get again.
Party in my mouth
big blackberry taste with a lingering maple flavor. delicious
absolutely amazing. Blackberry and maple syrup. very very thick
strong maple taste. I liked the balance with the sweetness.
I wanted to enjoy it more than I did, but there was an overpowering maple syrup flavor that drowned out any blackberry pancake profile. Tasted like drinking syrup mostly.
Another fire beer from Energy City. Even though it’s a Berliner Weisse style beer. It taste very similar to a quality pancake stout without the coffee flavor. Would definitely recommend to people who enjoy desert flavored beers with single digit alcohol content.
Strong maple on the nose. And strong maple taste. Nice blackberry tartness as well. Really good fruit Weisse.
true to the name; it’s blackberry syrup drizzled on a fluffy buttery stack of pancakes! the sweet sticky brew is fantastic. sweet n syrupy blackberry front and center followed by crumby pancake aftermath. sweet, tangy fruity, delicious.
sour with a caramel pancake taste
Tastes like breakfast in a can. Strong blackberry flavors followed by maple syrup
Have this with Sunday morning breakfast to cure those junk beers you chugged the night before. Energy City says what flavor its going for and nails it, if you have buyers remorse, you didn't read the label 👀
Maple fruit goodness
truly tastes like blackberry pancakes, smell the syrup as it come up to your nose. delicious, energy city has not disappointed me yet
Very delicious beer for brunch!
Sweet juicy blackberry jam taste with a strong maple finish
They nailed the pancake flavor and the blackberries are on point. Neither the blackberries or the Maple steal the show.
if pancakes = extremely heavy maple syrup flavor then ok. it’s good tho
Thick and rich - might be too much for some, but I enjoyed it.
Fantastic flavor with the maple upfront and the blackberry to finish. Starting to love Energy City!
exactly what the can says!
Yummy! A lovely wash of maple syrup mixed with sticky sweet blackberries and savory hotcakes. Every time I take a sip it makes me want to go camping.
