A Note on This Beer
Jester King Brewery is widely regarded as the brewery that introduced Farmhouse Ales to US craft fans.
In fact, because of the way they so intelligently incorporate the Texas terroir, they’ve inspired an explosion of Farmhouse breweries to open up across the country. Still, none have been able to replicate the funky Farmhouse Ales that earned Jester King their place as one of Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine’s Top 5 Best Small Breweries.
That’s because Jester King puts so much time, effort, and attention into each Farmhouse Ale release. And why you’ll find fans in search of pretty much every bottle they release on trade forms.
Fans want that Jester King expertise with some Texas-sized flavor. And today’s Bière de Blanc du Bois is no different.
They began by fermenting the base beer with their locally harvested house cultures. After aging in oak barrels, the matured ale is refermented with Texas-grown Blanc du Bois wine grapes until it reaches just the right dryness.
On the nose, there are aromas of dandelion and a hint of mint. Take your first sip and it’s a nuanced wash of tart grapefruit and wild honey. As it lightly flows across the palate, it diminishes into earthy white wine grapes coupled with sweet acidity. The finish: a pleasantly clean and well-balanced composition of semisweet, fruity, and funky.
Flavors like these are why Jester King brews simply can’t be beat, or replicated. So get a bottle of Bière de Blanc du Bois to share with some friends, and give ‘em a homegrown taste of Texas Wild Ale that can’t be found any place else!
