Love a good IPL. Anchorage does not disappoint.
It just didn’t have much flavor! Melon, citrus water? I could drink 4 of those and feel wasted but not feel as if I drank beer.
Not the best ipa
It’s an odd one. Lager vs IPA but with enough punch to be noticed. Unique almost Bock profile but I may be feelin’ the APV
Zesty and malty- definitely unusual and very yummy!!
The IPL caught me by surprise. Something new to me, but loved it
If you like pilsners or lagers but want a little extra, this is your beer. Not intense like an IPA but kicks like one. Excellent around the fire pit on a clear night.
Oh yeah this is tasty
Very dangerous beer. Crisp and smooth
Pretty good but has a bit of a burn on the finish
Kinda lacking any solid crisp punch from grain bill or from IPL style hopping. A rare miss from Anchorage.
too sweet for me
3/19/21 I’m really digging Lagers/Pilsners recently. As I’m recovering from my IPA addiction, the IPL has been a revelation. This drinks like honeyed tropical fruit with that lager body that screams, “I am beer, thou shalt ravenously devour me.”
Good balance of lager + hopping. The mix at first has a soapy smell which quickly punches with straight lager aroma. Lots of berry on the palate while grains still shine through. Very interesting for an IPL.
Daily corona battle. Anchorage with the title encouragement today. edition. This is lemony, clean, complex. Unique, yet crushable. Some pine on the finish, and just so well done…as expected. Touch of bready lagering on the feel, but doesn’t linger.
Boozy hoppy corn water.
Great flavors, smooth and crushable for an 8.4.
Amazingly clean. Hopps pretty much undetectable. Makes for a very clean, floral lager that tastes almost malty and nowhere near 8%. Like nothing I’ve had before.
Slight taste of hops with a floral, crisp finish. Great summertime beer
Sourdough starter, but make it berry Gooey, dewy, fruity booty
Grassy, Floral, Citrus Peel, Sessionable
Fantastic as always. You can't go wrong with Anchorage brewing 🍻
Whoa wasn't expecting this. I keep going back and forth between liking it and not. There's a sweetness that comes and goes across the palette that I dig. The fruity citra hops don't really work for me.
Not what you’d expect from a double IPA - smooooothe, not bitter, light bodied and citrusy, great buzz :)
Brewery description is spot on! Bready aroma, sweet backbone but with a zesty citrus finish
The Anchorage brewing company has as of yet to disappoint everything that i have gotten from them is refreshing and just good.
At first I was concerned that something was wrong with the beer. Then I read the label. It's a IPL not an IPA. Change my expectations... Now it's really good.
16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy golden pour with creamy white head. Full bread dough aroma, sweet with a hint of hops. Taste balances the biscuit malts and hops perfectly, coupled with a thick, creamy body for a really full mouth feel. This brew pushed all the right buttons for me. The barely noticable 8.4% ABV puts it over the top.
Nice hop profile
Love it! Great citrus taste
IPL or IPB? Definitely in bock ABV territory. Smooth and flavorful. Really enjoyed this one.
Good but not great. Strata hops add an almost kettle sour note. Worth a drink.
Fits the description, this one is refreshing on the pallet and creates a buzz. Drinkability is easy, wish I bought two.
Hoppy and crisp very great
Easy to drink and great hoppy flavor
One of my favorites from Anchorage
Chalky, not a strata fan
Very good for an IPL!
Flavor is rather balanced. Shows the soft honeysuckle upfront with a mild grapefruit bitterness and the finish. Backed by The bready malt. Has an elegance about it. Real enjoyable!
This one I thought was very well made, not TOO much if that makes sense.
Smooth and hoppy, definitely will sneak up on you if you have too many.
Mistakes were made..
The usual Anchorage fruity hoppiness shows up here, but this does also have a good bit of pine and florals, and a clean sweetness from the lagering. Very different from the ipas, but still has the India pale character I notice in Anchorage beers.
Drank this while waiting for a job offer…not bad
Juicy and smooth
First time with an IPL...very well balanced between the lager and hops
Would get again.
Never had an IPL. Not too bitter at all, very smooth.
A taste melon! It’s an IPL!? Fitting after the lager.
Taste was great
This was fantastic. Lager malty undercurrent that’s got just a little sweetness, overlaid with melon and lemon/lime citrus from the hops.
Love everything I’ve had from these guys
Anchorage is one of my favorite breweries. This beer is a pretty solid example as to why.
Almost Belgian - very good!
Different but would rather have an EIPA
Excellent. Bitter hops first, great lager/pilsner in the middle, and they combine very well in the finish with a nice lingering flavor that makes it more of a sipper for me. Definitely love this one
Not big into ipa's bought for a family member and she thought it was pretty good
Very refreshing without too much IPA after taste
Good but would rather have an ipa.
A bit sweet, but not too much. Easy to drink.
I’ve never encountered a New England-style IPL before, but I knew I could trust Anchorage to pull it off. It’s the perfect solution for people who like NEIPAs, but find their characteristic creamy, fluffy thickness to be too filling.
ABC quality coors light baby
Refreshing floral twist to a DIPA type lager
Lager yeast adds slightly differently flavor. Hint of lime.
This is great. Lager with a kick. Crushable!
Just incredible. This brewery can do no wrong. My first IPL and immediately wished I had ordered more.
It's okay. Anchorage makes far better IPAs.
Solid lager with a little extra citrus and hope. Excellent
Maybe a touch more bitter than hoppy. Big floral and dank hoppy notes.
did it again
Nice and easy drinking.
