A Note on This Beer
Ferocious and savage, 100 IBUs of El Dorado, Centennial, Mosaic, and Simcoe Hops tear their way across your tongue in Wildcard Brewing’s Battling with Bears DIPA.
This is a classic battle -- man vs beer -- a hopbomb slugfest of citrus, pine, mangoes and green onions waits for you inside the bear’s den. Wildcard has proven their hoppy meddle before with their 4.0+ rated-on-Tavour Crowdpleaser IPA. Now they’re going big and burly with a 100 IBU brew that makes you feel every drop of bitter resin.
Freshly split pinewood aromatics float above this sparkling bright and clear Northern California brew. A hint of burning herbs (sage or possibly ganja) lingers. Its thick, dank, and coming this way. Ultra lean cracker-like malts get out of the way and allow the coniferous sap notes to rain down on the tongue. Simcoe reigns supreme here, leaving a woody slap on the tongue you’ll still feel long after you’re done drinking.
Wildcard claims this is a post-bear-battle relaxation beer. We disagree. As intensely flavorful with citrus and spruce as a whole forests of bitterness, this beer is like battling a bear itself. Come and poke the beer.
