About This Beer

To make it, the crew took a roast-forward Stout and aged it for 9-24 months in Garrison Brothers Bourbon barrels — an internationally recognized, award-winning distillery located in the heart of Texas. To really highlight the character of these exquisite barrels and the immaculate flavors in the base beer, the brewers chose to leave out any additional adjuncts.

Tasting Notes

Look forward to notes of toffee and date rippling over a bed of rich and roasty malts. Mocha undertones carry through to a satisfying finish with luxurious vanilla oak and top-shelf whiskey nuances lingering on the palate.

This is a layered meal in a bottle. Definitely a slow sipper for me and very delicious.

Stouts can be a bit too dense and cloying for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed this. Rich, silky, and just the right amount of sweet.

Loved the chocolate smell. Not bitter like other stouts I’ve tried, overall was decent (not much of a stout beer person). Would drink again in small quantities.

By far, the smoothest stout I have ever had. I was sad when it was gone!

This has so many good flavors and is a great sipping beer. Nice heavy, thicker texture. You can tell they take care in their processes and that they care for each batch.

Chocolatey Rich and Bourbon notes that leave a smoothe note. I loved this Stout and easily made my top 5 list.

very dark, almost thick. It’s what I like to call an “end of the night” beer. probably couldn’t manage more then one, but I loved it. very strong coffee and chocolate tastes.

This beer is weighty, with a lot of layers and tons of flavor, but even the beer haters in our group said they’d have another of these any day.

Rich notes of chocolate & bourbon suffuse a luxuriously thick beer. A stunning brew to end any night with.

It was not for me. It was very Molasses thick and too strong for my tastes. I’m so sorry, FB! 3 stars for an amazing bottle design though.

Creamy head, roasted malt aroma with a hint of prunes, robust coffee taste with baker’s chocolate notes, full-bodied, and lingering alcohol warmth.

the grackle brew is one if a kind and full flavored better than Guinness (my point of view)!
