A Note on This Beer
Today’s Barrel Aged T.O.R.I.S. the Tyrant: Triple Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout is an absolute beast of a brew… and we’re ready to unleash it into your fridge!
- It’s rated #11 Imperial Oatmeal Stout in the World on Untappd.
- It was made by the World Beer Cup-winning brewers at Hoppin’ Frog.
- Fans like @DrDemento456 on BeerAdvocate are blown away, saying “these guys showed their A game with this beer.”
Every silky-smooth sip of Barrel-Aged T.O.R.I.S. showcases the Ohio brewery’s expertise in booze and barrels. Here are a few reasons why:
Bold Flavors: Vanilla-soaked cocoa? Check. Caramelized plums? Double-check. Melted Godiva chocolate with hints of tobacco and new leather? Triple-check. The Oatmeal Stout base keeps the mouthfeel silky smooth before the Bourbon enraptures the taste buds with warm, boozy bliss.
Bourbon Barrels: The brewery likes to keep the identity of their barrels a mystery, and they won’t tell us exactly how long they age this brew, but the tongue doesn’t lie when it comes to Bourbon! This Stout is drenched in oaky caramel-vanilla luxury that could only come from freshly emptied, top-shelf Bourbon barrels.
Boozy Strength: BBA T.O.R.I.S. totes a bangin’ 13.8% ABV. The boozy flavor is prominent on the palate but sips unexpectedly smooth for a beer this big.
We only snagged 60 cases of this Bourbon-spiked treat this time around, and they’re bound to go faster than you can say Triple Oatmeal Imperial Stout! Don’t let this monstrously flavorful brew hop away before you get a taste.

Rich, dark, and smooth. You could probably stand a fork up in this beer.
Sweet molasses flavor. Warms you right up.
BIG beer. The barrel compliments the base well, but overall it’s a little too sweet. Would be curious how it tasted after mellowing for a year
Super stout. Thick and creamy, definitely one you’ll want to share.
Love all of there stouts
This was awesome
Syrupy, a little one-note.
This tasted a little too harsh for my liking. The alcohol and heat mostly masked the flavors
