A Note on This Beer
Woodford Reserve is a bourbon synonymous with the Kentucky Derby. In the words of my horse betting buddy, “it’s a race horse whiskey, through and through.”
When Revision Brewing crafted a small batch of Finite Madness aged in Woodford Reserve barrels for 16 months, they committed this Secretariat-in-a-glass to one fate:
It’s gonna be a horse race just to get a bottle.
After a long hiatus, this European Beer Star gold medal winner is back! Revision produced a mere 6 barrels TOTAL of the dark chocolate star, so it goes without saying: this beer isn’t gonna be here long.
Right out of the gate, caramel, cacao, and spice notes illuminate the touted bourbon barrels on the first length, turning the corner with a delicious oaky character. Down the stretch comes the heavy chocolate, coffee, and roasted finish of the Stout base, crossing the finish line with a velvety, rich champion of 13% ABV.
The 22 oz. bottle doesn’t shy away from the boozy warmth in every sip, but the decadent deliciousness will have you almost forgetting its big ABV as you gather at the winner’s circle.
You’ll want to be a part of the celebration; but you’ll have to race to our stash in time!
