About This Beer
It makes sense that the crew at Mason Ale Works named today’s Mead Barrel Aged Barleywine in honor of B.A. Baracus from The A-Team. Because just like Mr. T, this brew is BIG and BURLY.
It comes with a 16% ABV — that’s enough to knock B.A. out long enough for the rest of the team to load him onto a plane. And like the A-Team, this brew is completely unexpected. The brewers let it age for over a year in Honey Hawk Mead barrels. In fact, it’s the first Mead barrel Aged Barleywine we’ve ever seen at Tavour!
Of course, it takes a seriously skilled crew to brew a beer like this, so Mason Ale Works enlisted the help of their buddies at Horus Aged Ales AND Beer Zombies! That’s an A-Team of brewers if we’ve ever seen one.
Tasting Notes
Every sip of this rich, decadent brew carries berry, honey, and subtle oak flavors from the barrels, with hints of malty date and toffee. And when you taste how smooth it is, you might think they’re lying about all that booze. Until you finish the can.
