To make it, the team at Casey Brewing & Blending started with a Farmhouse Ale made with buckwheat, and let it mature in oak barrels for nearly a year before finishing it on over two pounds of Bartlett pears per gallon!
Tasting Notes
The buckwheat base adds a rustic complexity to the sip, which beautifully complements the estery yeast notes and layers of pome fruit flavor. Meanwhile, hints of horse blanket and hay accentuate a bright tanginess that ushers the palate toward a crisp and effervescent finish.
